DTO - In 2024, the Party Committees and authorities of Lai Vung district will continue to lead and direct the implementation of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" (TDĐKXDĐSVH) in conjunction with the implementation of Resolution No. 06 of the Provincial Party Committee, term XI "Building a culture and people of Dong Thap that are affectionate, dynamic, and creative". Thereby, contributing to building a healthy cultural environment, promoting local socio -economic development.
The cultural and artistic movement (don ca tai tu) attracts more and more people in Lai Vung district to participate.
According to the Steering Committee of the Lai Vung District Cultural and Sports Movement, the construction of a cultural environment has been of interest to sectors and localities through the effective implementation of grassroots cultural activities, cultural and sports institutions, cultural and artistic movements, the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values, etc. in line with the actual situation of the unit and locality. Currently, Lai Vung district has 36/71 newly built standard hamlet and residential cultural houses; 13 inter-hamlet cultural houses (26 hamlets); 7 hamlets share activities with the commune's Cultural - Community Learning Center; 2 hamlets use schools in the commune as places for activities. 12/12 communes and towns of Lai Vung district have newly built, renovated and upgraded standard Cultural - Community Learning Centers and 2 commune sports areas (Tan Thanh and Phong Hoa). Up to now, 12 Cultural - Community Learning Centers in communes and towns have operated effectively, meeting the needs of cultural - artistic, physical education - sports activities, implementing resolutions, disseminating technical knowledge of cultivation, animal husbandry, and vocational training for people.
The entire Lai Vung district maintains 4 11-a-side football fields, 23 5-7-a-side football fields, 62 volleyball courts, 33 badminton courts, 22 shuttlecock courts, 1 tennis court, 1 gymnasium and 142 sports clubs. The locality has 1 district library, 40 libraries in schools, 48 bookcases in hamlets, villages, communes and towns. Although the conditions for grassroots cultural institutions are still difficult, cultural, artistic and sports activities are still ensured. In particular, the Lai Vung District Culture, Sports and Broadcasting Center is implementing, investing and upgrading the multi-purpose hall and swimming pool according to regulations, ensuring convenient use and easy access for people. The movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" in the area continues to develop and attract a large number of people to participate in exercise to improve physical health. Facilities, playgrounds, and sports training equipment continue to be invested in and regularly upgraded through socialized activities. Lai Vung district maintains the organization of the Olympic Running Day for the health of all people at the district and grassroots levels; the Lai Vung district traditional cross-country race in 2023 with 1,126 athletes (383 female) from 41 participating units.
Along with that, many movements, campaigns, festivals, and competitions on learning and creative work were launched by departments, branches, sectors, and socio -political organizations of Lai Vung district, attracting a large number of cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and people to participate. Effectively implementing the Projects "Building a culture of behavior in schools for the period 2019 - 2025"; developing a reading culture in the community for the period 2021 - 2025, oriented to 2030 in Lai Vung district. The movement "Learning and creative work" was promoted, especially among cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers as well as all classes of people to mobilize all resources and intelligence to serve the labor and production of agencies, units, enterprises and people, contributing to improving professional qualifications, for the goal of industrialization and modernization of the country in the socio-economic fields.
Mr. Phan Van Tap - Vice Chairman of Lai Vung District People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee of the Lai Vung District Cultural Movement said that, regarding the construction of a healthy cultural environment in the locality in the coming time, Lai Vung district will promote the improvement of the quality of cultural titles in the Cultural Movement to create positive changes in building people with cultural ideology, ethics, lifestyle and way of life. Implement a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals; build a healthy cultural environment, preserve and promote the good traditional cultural values of the nation, contribute to repelling social evils in order to successfully implement the socio-economic development targets in the locality.
At the same time, continue to effectively implement the Project to promote the value of the village communal house system of the province in the district; deploy the "Set of criteria for family behavior" and the criteria for cultural and cultural facilities in the construction of advanced new rural areas. Pay attention to guiding the Working Committee, the Mobilization Committee of hamlets and villages to review, review and recognize cultural titles according to Decision No. 548 dated June 12, 2019 of the Provincial People's Committee on Regulations on standards and procedures for evaluating and recognizing cultural titles in the movement of physical training and sports to build new rural areas in Dong Thap province.
