Vietnam is the first destination of Bastian Schweinsteiger and the Champions League trophy
On the afternoon of April 8 at the Reunification Palace, German football legend Bastian Schweinsteiger appeared with the UEFA Champions League trophy, starting a journey to meet Vietnamese fans in Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang and Hanoi .
After opening with a greeting in Vietnamese, the former German player who helped Bayern Munich win the 2012-2013 Champions League with a friendly and approachable style openly interacted with the Vietnamese press and fans.
In particular, the midfielder who once possessed a talented but powerful style of German football expressed his hope: "I don't know much about Vietnamese football but I'm very excited to learn about local football. If I have time, I really want to arrange to watch a V-League match.
I really hope that the Vietnamese team will soon be present at a World Cup. Hopefully one day I will see the Vietnamese team compete with the German team at the World Cup. That will be a very interesting experience."

At 2am on April 9, the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals will kick off with four matches, with Bayern Munich hosting Inter Milan at home, before the second leg on April 17 at San Siro.
The former midfielder who helped Germany win the 2014 World Cup shared: "I am very happy to be here with the UEFA Champions League trophy, the title I won with Bayern Munich in the 2012-2013 season, after defeating Chelsea in the final. In fact, I don't have many opportunities to touch it, so this journey will be a great experience.
I hope Bayern Munich will win the UEFA Champions League again this year, starting with a victory over Inter Milan in the quarter-finals tomorrow morning. But Paris Saint-Germain are also very strong opponents and are serious candidates."
The UEFA Champions League final will take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany on 31 May 2025.
