Ia Toi implements rabies vaccination on dogs

(QNgTV) - Regarding rabies in dogs in Ia Toi commune, the People's Committee of the commune has directed relevant units to urgently destroy high-risk dogs, and at the same time issued a plan to implement rabies vaccination on animals in village 7 and neighboring areas.

Deploying rabies vaccination on dogs

Immediately after the appearance of rabies in dogs, Ia Toi commune directed the functional forces to establish a team to catch stray dogs to control the epidemic, and at the same time, coordinate the rabies vaccination campaign. The locality has vaccinated 135 out of 290 dogs in village 7. Ia Toi commune People's Committee arranged 500 doses of rabies vaccine for the first phase of 2025, starting yesterday, in village 7, village 8 and residential areas 41, 44.

Previously, on July 9, residents of Village 7, Ia Toi Commune discovered two dogs suspected of having rabies that had bitten nine other dogs and two residents. The locality destroyed 15 dogs suspected of having rabies, of which two-thirds tested positive for the rabies virus. The two cases of dog bites were encouraged to be vaccinated and given anti-rabies serum.
