The Vietnamese national anthem is "Tiến quân ca" (Marching Song), composed by musician Văn Cao, with its sacred and heroic melodies.

The song was created in connection with memories of Vietnam during the period leading up to the August 1945 Revolution.

Following the success of the August Revolution in 1945, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was established. The first National Assembly (in 1946) officially chose "Tiến quân ca" (Marching Song) as the national anthem of Vietnam.

Since its creation, "The Marching Song" has accompanied the Vietnamese nation through many ups and downs of history and has become an irreplaceable and sacred part of the soul and blood of every citizen.

The composer of the Vietnamese national anthem, musician Văn Cao, was born on November 15, 1923, exactly 100 years ago.
