Industrial Internet – A Breakthrough in Vietnam’s Digital Age

Industrial Internet (IIoT) is the next step of the Internet, leading the wave of global digital transformation, connecting robots, sensors, big data into smart production chains, with huge development potential. To prepare for the inevitable development of the Industrial Internet, VNNIC organized the VNNIC Internet Conference 2025, taking place on July 25, 2025 in Hanoi, with the Vietnamese and international Internet community to discuss and share orientations for technology solutions, ready for the breakthrough era with the Industrial Internet.

In the context of the world entering a period of strong digital transformation, the Internet of Things (IoT) is no longer a strange concept. Billions of connected devices every day are creating a smart network, opening up unprecedented potential in the history of the Internet. However, what is really shaping the future of the Internet is the Industrial Internet (IIoT ) - when production lines, industrial robots, and smart sensors connect and optimize the entire manufacturing ecosystem.

According to The Business Research Company's forecast, the global IIoT market will reach 280 billion USD in 2025 and reach 480 billion USD in 2029 - a figure equivalent to Vietnam's GDP in 2024. This is not only an opportunity, but also an inevitable revolution in the journey to build a digital economy .

In Vietnam, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 on breakthroughs in science , technology, innovation and national digital transformation has clearly defined the orientation for developing digital infrastructure and digital technology on the principles of "modernity, synchronization, security, safety, efficiency, avoiding waste", promoting the rapid development of big databases, data industry, and data economy.

The Internet of Things (IoT), the Internet of Things in the Industrial Internet (IIoT) are key components of the physical-digital infrastructure. These components, together with telecommunications infrastructure, data, and digital technology, form the foundational architecture for industrialization and modernization, realizing the goal of developing science, technology, and innovation, with the common goal of making Vietnam a developed country with high income, becoming one of the digital technology industrial centers of the region and the world.
