On the afternoon of January 5, in Ho Chi Minh City, VnExpress newspaper held the Tech Awards 2023 ceremony. This is an annual voting program for the year's outstanding technology products and brands in each category.
This year's voting program has the participation of more than 90 nominated brands, products, applications, and platforms, divided into 18 categories with 3 contents: Digital products, Household brands, Platforms. The program selects nominees based on the following criteria: Products introduced in 2023 and sold officially in Vietnam; bringing new and outstanding technology, affirming the trend of 2023 and forecasting the technology potential of 2024. The Platform and Brand contents do not apply time criteria.
In the context of the strong development of the artificial intelligence ecosystem and the implementation of the National Strategy on Green Growth for the period 2021 - 2030, vision 2050, Tech Awards 2023 has added the categories of Outstanding AI Camera and Green Brand of the Year. The Green Brand category is for brands in the technology field, using clean green energy, recycled materials in production, or providing solutions to save electricity and protect the environment.
The final results are based on 40% reader votes and 60% judges' scores.
As every year, the phone category still attracts the most attention from the technology world. In 2023, this category is divided into 4 awards, in which the best phone belongs to Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max; Samsung Galaxy A34 5G becomes the best popular phone; Oppo N3 Flip is the best phone for content creators and the most impressive camera phone belongs to Xiaomi 13T Pro.
In the TV category, the LG Oled Evo G3 won, while the Sony Bravia X80K was the best mainstream TV.
After many years of Apple Macbook domination, this year, LG unexpectedly made an impression with the best laptop of the year belonging to LG Gram Super Slim.
In the Platform category, the awards went to Shopee in the e-commerce sector, FPT Play in the entertainment platform sector, and Giao hang tiet kiem in the excellent delivery platform sector.
Meanwhile, for the best home appliance brand, Daikin won first place in the air conditioner category; Beko won the dishwasher category; the best vacuum cleaner was Dyson; the best refrigerator and washing machine both went to Samsung; LG won in the air purifier category. Notably, the best robot vacuum cleaner voted by readers went to Ecovacs.
Outstanding AI Camera is one of two new categories this year, and IMOU Cruiser 2 took first place in this award. Meanwhile, the best AI-applied Cloud camera went to FPT.
In the Green Brand of the Year award, Huawei won first place after surpassing Vinfast and Samsung. This is considered a meaningful award in implementing Vietnam's national strategy on green growth.
