The iPhone 17 Air concept by WEIS Studio has just appeared, providing a realistic look at Apple's highly anticipated device. The image in the concept simulates the iPhone 17 Air in the hands of users, based on the latest rumors about the design and specifications. Notably, this iPhone model is said to be impressively thin at only 5.5mm.
To put that in perspective, the current iPhone 16 Pro is 8.25mm thick, while the iPhone 6 – the thinnest iPhone ever – is 6.9mm thick. If the rumors are true, the iPhone 17 Air could be as thin as the 11-inch iPad Pro M4, which is just 5.3mm thick. This promises a sleek, modern design that feels incredibly light in the hand.
Not only impressive in terms of thinness, the concept also reveals a completely new camera cluster design. The iPhone 17 Air is envisioned with a single camera system placed in a horizontal bar on the back, completely different from the square or vertical camera cluster design on current iPhone models. Notably, this design completely matches the recently leaked images of the back of the iPhone 17 Air, raising many expectations for a new direction in Apple's iPhone design.
Analysts say Apple is aiming for a new breakthrough in iPhone design by creating an ultra-thin phone, targeting users who love compactness and are different from traditional iPhone models. A device with impressive thinness and lighter weight will not only bring a comfortable grip experience but can also become an attractive factor for Apple to attract a large number of new customers, thereby boosting sales.
According to leaked information, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to replace the current iPhone Plus line, becoming an intermediate choice between the standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro. However, to achieve the impressive ultra-thin design, Apple may have to accept certain trade-offs.
