The iPhone 17 series brought many improvements, such as a 120Hz display across all models and a more powerful upgraded camera.

However, for many users, especially tech enthusiasts, these improvements are still not enough. On forums and social media, many opinions have begun to list the features they want Apple to add to the iPhone 18.

Desire for faster charging speed.

One of the most frequently suggested improvements is to increase battery charging speed.

With the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple increased the charging power to around 40W, allowing it to charge 50% of the battery in about 20 minutes. While this is a significant improvement over the previous generation, many users believe this speed is still slow compared to current high-end Android smartphones.

On many forums like Reddit, numerous users have expressed their desire for Apple to further enhance its fast charging technology, even aiming for 100W like some Android phone models.

Meanwhile, many competitors have gone quite far in the fast charging race. Samsung now supports charging up to 60W on its high-end Galaxy line, while OnePlus has equipped many of its devices with wired charging technology up to 120W.

Apple's switch to USB-C ports starting with the iPhone 15 also led users to expect the company to better utilize high-power charging capabilities in the future.

I want to have privacy protection mode on my screen.

Another feature frequently mentioned by iPhone users is the private screen protection mode, similar to the "Privacy Display" feature on Samsung's high-end smartphones.

This feature limits the screen's viewing angle, making it difficult for others to see the displayed content when the user is using their phone in public places such as trains, cafes, or airports.

Currently, iPhone users can still use anti-spy tempered glass screen protectors to achieve a similar effect. However, this solution is not flexible because it cannot be turned on or off as needed.

That's why many people want Apple to integrate this feature directly into the hardware and software of the iPhone 18, giving users more control over protecting their privacy.

Larger and longer-lasting battery

Battery life is always one of the most important factors when users choose to buy a new smartphone.

Although Apple has continuously improved the battery life on recent generations of iPhones, many users still wish the iPhone 18 had significantly longer battery life.

Some people say they are willing to accept a thicker iPhone if it means better battery life and not having to carry a spare battery.

Besides battery capacity, new battery technology is also a point of interest. Many users expect Apple to adopt silicon-carbon batteries, a technology currently being tested by many Android manufacturers to increase battery capacity while maintaining a slim and lightweight design.

Many people also hope Apple will improve battery longevity over time. Currently, Apple states that the lithium-ion batteries in iPhones can maintain approximately 80% of their capacity after 1,000 full charge cycles. However, some users expect this number to increase significantly to extend the device's lifespan.

Full-screen display, no more notch.

After years of using Dynamic Island, many users want Apple to completely remove this screen notch.

Apple first introduced the "notch" on the iPhone X in 2017, then switched to Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro. This design has continued to appear on many subsequent generations of iPhones.

However, according to many comments on tech forums, a significant number of users want the iPhone 18 to have a completely seamless screen to optimize the display experience.

Some recent rumors also suggest that Apple might move the Face ID system under the screen, leaving only a small hole for the selfie camera, instead of using Dynamic Island as it currently does.

Users want Touch ID to return.

Besides Face ID, many users also hope Apple will bring back the Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the iPhone 18.

Some suggest Apple should integrate an in-display fingerprint sensor like many current Android smartphones, while others want Touch ID to be placed on the power button, as on the iPad Air.

Touch ID first appeared on the iPhone 5s in 2013 before Apple completely switched to Face ID starting with the iPhone X.

Although Face ID is still highly regarded for its convenience and security, many users believe that having an additional fingerprint authentication option would be more useful in many situations, especially when wearing a mask or using the phone in low-light conditions.

Currently, Apple has not released any official information about the iPhone 18. However, lively discussions on tech forums suggest that users are expecting the next generation of iPhones to bring more significant changes, rather than just minor performance upgrades.

From faster charging and better battery life to a full-screen display and Touch ID, these are some of the features most frequently mentioned by users when discussing Apple's future iPhone.
