New information from supply chain analysts shows that Apple's first foldable iPhone will have a 7.8-inch internal screen and a 5.5-inch external screen. This is a parameter that has been mentioned by many experts, showing increasing reliability about the overall design of the device.
Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold7, the foldable iPhone is somewhat more compact when compared to the screen of the Korean product. This difference shows that Apple may be aiming for a flexible user experience for one-handed operation, instead of just competing in terms of display.
According to internal reports, Apple is aiming to launch a foldable iPhone in the second half of 2026. Based on the tradition of holding a new product launch event in September every year, this is most likely when the device will officially appear.
A notable highlight is the crease-free screen technology applied by Apple on the device. This structure uses a laser-drilled metal plate placed under the screen to disperse pressure when bending, thereby limiting the wrinkling or breaking that is common on previous foldable phones. Not only Apple, Samsung is also developing similar technology on the next generation of Z Fold.
In terms of hardware configuration, the foldable iPhone is expected to be equipped with 2 rear cameras and one front camera. Notably, the device may not use Face ID like recent iPhone models, but integrate Touch ID into the power button. This is a more suitable solution for the folding design.
In addition to information about the size and screen technology, the device seems to use a high-end titanium frame, a liquid alloy hinge with a thickness of about 4.5 mm when opened and nearly 9.5 mm when folded. This will help the device maintain a thin and light design while still ensuring mechanical durability during use.
The expected price of the foldable iPhone could range from $2,000 to $2,500 , clearly positioning it in the high-end segment. If true, this will be the most expensive iPhone ever introduced by Apple to the market.
