IRIB described the facility as a “missile city” and unveiled it in the presence of IRGC Commander Hossein Salami and head of the IRGC Aerospace Force Amir-Ali Hajizadeh.
The IRIB presenter said the base houses many of Iran's advanced missiles, including the Emad, Qadr and Qiam, all of which are liquid-fueled. It is just one of hundreds of such bases belonging to the IRGC Aerospace Force. The report added that missiles from the base were used in Iran's second retaliatory operation against Israel last October.
Speaking at the base, the IRGC Commander highlighted Iran's modern missile capabilities and that with this progress, the IRGC will continue to unveil new missiles and bases in the near future.
During his visit to the base, Mr Salami praised the base’s forces for their participation in the April 14, 2024, and subsequent October operations against Israel. He said Iran’s missile and defense systems “are increasing every day in various places”.
He dismissed claims by "enemies" that Iran's missile production capacity had been disrupted, asserting that the country's missiles "are increasing and improving every day in quantity as well as quality, efficiency and design".
According to local media, the new missile base marks a significant development in the Islamic nation's strategic defense infrastructure.
On October 1, 2024, Iran launched dozens of ballistic missiles at Israel, calling the attack retaliation for the assassination of key resistance figures, including Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and senior Iranian commander Abbas Nilforoushan.
