Jennie Blackpink joins entertainment show with Ji Chang Wook

According to Allkpop, on September 3, Blackpink member Jennie revealed that she recently finished filming for JTBC's variety show "My Name is Gabriel" (abbreviated as "Gabriel").

The episodes featuring Jennie are scheduled to air for two weeks, on Friday, September 27 and Friday, October 4 (Korean time).

“My Name Is Gabriel” is a new entertainment program of JTBC. Initially, it attracted considerable anticipation because it is the brainchild of Kim Tae Ho - the creator of the legendary program “Infinite Challenge”.

The star-studded lineup also created a big buzz as the show brought together big names like Park Bo Gum, Ji Chang Wook, Park Myung Soo, Yeon Hye Ran, Dex, and Gabee.

However, “Gabriel” has faced low ratings, not as expected. Jennie is expected to be the factor that helps the show attract more viewers.

Rumors of Jennie's participation in "Gabriel" surfaced early on, but Jennie's management company initially stated that she turned down the offer to focus on album production.

Producer Kim Tae Ho also mentioned inviting Jennie to join the show, but everything was not confirmed at that time.

According to entertainment industry insiders, Jennie is carefully considering whether to join a variety show, especially one that focuses on her solo activities instead of her music career.

Jennie previously appeared on tvN's variety show "Apartment 404" from February to April 2024. She felt a bit pressured to appear on variety shows consecutively as an individual, before Blackpink's full group comeback.

It was recently confirmed that all Blackpink members - Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo - will reunite for a world tour in 2025, under YG Entertainment.
