Recently, the famous Korean accessories and eyewear brand Gentle Monster introduced a new collection called "Jentle Salon", in collaboration with Kpop idol Jennie (member of Blackpink group).
This 33-piece collection quickly attracted attention, with special eyewear and accessory designs, including a capybara stuffed animal inspired by Jennie's own favorite animal.
Before the collection officially launched on May 1, many celebrities shared on social media the “Jentle Salon” gift box that Jennie sent, causing the products to go viral.
However, recently, a social media account unexpectedly posted a photo comparing products in the "Jentle Salon" collection with products in the 2020-2022 collection of Hong Kong jewelry and accessories brand YVMIN.
Comparison images show that these two collections have many similarities in design and main colors. Gentle Monster and Jennie's "Jentle Salon" are considered to be copies.
Jennie's fans pointed out that the above image was intentionally arranged to compare the products in the collection. In fact, Gentle Monster has never released promotional images with such an arrangement.
However, many opinions say that it cannot be denied that the "Jentle Salon" collection, which Jennie contributed to creating, has many products similar to the collection of the brand YVMIN.
This is Jennie's third collaboration with Gentle Monster for a solo collection. The previous collections were "Jentle Home" (2020) and "Jentle Garden" (2022).
Gentle Monster has not yet commented on this issue. But if the plagiarism suspicion is true, it will somewhat affect Jennie's image.
