The training program combines intensive physical training with simulations of real-life competition situations, helping athletes improve their reflexes and master the game. Simultaneously, exercises developing speed, endurance, and motor coordination are emphasized. This forms the foundation for athletes to enter the competition at their peak performance, effectively handling developments in each match, especially unexpected situations.
This year, Can Tho Jujitsu is participating with 3 coaches and 23 athletes. Many of them have achieved high results in national competitions, possessing strong technical skills and stable competitive mindsets. Names like Nguyen Yen Nhi, Pham Ngoc Uyen Nhi, Pham Anh Thu, Le Gia An… are expected to make their mark at the tournament.
Coach Huynh Thanh Tai of the Can Tho Jujitsu team shared: “Our team's goal at the tournament is to strive for 5 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals. Besides our key athletes, we also place our trust in some newcomers who have shown improvement through each training session. Even during the holidays, the entire team maintained a high intensity of training to ensure optimal physical and mental fitness.”
This year's tournament, held from May 5th to 14th at Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports , brought together many outstanding young athletes from across the country. The competition included individual sparring (Newaza Gi, Newaza NoGi), and fighting in various weight classes for men and women, as well as Duo Classic and Duo Show performances. This is an important tournament for localities to assess the quality of their training, and to provide opportunities for young athletes to gain experience and compete at the highest level.
The 2026 National Jujitsu Youth Championships will be a comprehensive test of the training of young jujitsu athletes in Can Tho. Through each match, the athletes have the opportunity to grow, while the coaching staff gains practical data to refine their training plan.
