The TV series received positive feedback.
Jung Hae In is currently a name receiving great attention on the Korean screen with his leading role in the tvN drama "Love Next Door".
"Love Next Door" is a romantic comedy that tells the tumultuous love story between Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min), a woman trying to rebuild her life from a life of flaws, and Choi Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In), the son of her mother's friend.
In the drama, Jung Hae In's character is a perfect son in terms of appearance, personality, and abilities. He is a talented young architect and the CEO of an architectural firm.
According to Flix Patrol, an online streaming service (OTT) ranking site, "Love Next Door" earned 458 points and ranked 4th in Netflix's most popular TV series globally on August 19th.
The film topped the charts in six countries and territories, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Taiwan (China), and Vietnam; and also entered the Top 10 in 74 countries, including South Korea and Japan.
Previously, at the press conference for the drama's release, director Yoo Je Won and Jung Hae In expressed their hope that "Love Next Door" could surpass a 10% rating, following the success of other hit dramas recently released on tvN such as "Queen of Tears" and "Go Marry Me"...
As expected, "Love Next Door" kicked off with ratings of 4.9% and 6% for episodes 1 and 2. These are very promising numbers, showing the positive reception from the domestic audience.
Jung Hae In further heightened curiosity by sharing, "This is the first time I've acted in a true romantic comedy."
My previous works were romances mixed with dark emotions, but this time there are more humorous elements.
I laughed so much while filming that I wondered if I'd ever laughed that much on set. There were moments so funny that I was thanking the author for writing the story while I was acting."
The film is expected to be a box office hit.
On August 20th, Jung Hae In continued to attract attention when he attended the press conference for the film "Veteran: I, the Executioner" in Seoul.
This is a thrilling crime action film about veteran detective Seo Do Chul (Hwang Jung Min), who relentlessly pursues the bad guys.
He teams up with rookie detective Park Sun Woo (Jung Hae In) to track down a serial killer responsible for a devastating crime.
Director Ryu Seung Wan praised Jung Hae In's nearly perfect action performance: "I would give him 9.99/10. I only deducted 0.01 because he was too fast."
There were times I had to ask him to slow down because his movements were too fast. In one scene, his technique was so effective that his opponent almost lost his breath.
I told him, "Why are you doing that? This is a movie, you have to act."
His body is like a rock. When I touched Jung Hae In's arm, I was shocked. I realized he manages himself very well. Although his dedication and training are commendable, his intense focus sometimes makes me have to subtract 0.01 from his score.”
Previously, "Veteran 2," a rare South Korean film, was invited to this year's Cannes Film Festival in the non-competitive Midnight Screenings category.
This film is a sequel to the first part, "Veteran," released in 2015 (starring Hwang Jung Min and Yoo Ah In) - a box office hit that sold over 13 million tickets, becoming one of the highest-grossing films in Korean cinematic history.
"Veteran 2" will be officially released on September 13th.
