Therefore, according to the plan, in 2025, the city plans to upgrade Kobe airport into an international airport with regular flights from Asian countries, including Vietnam.
In the field of tourism cooperation between the two countries, Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu said that Vietnam and Japan have signed many bilateral tourism cooperation documents; organized and attended the meeting of the Tourism Cooperation Committee of the two countries, this is an opportunity for the two sides to exchange and share experiences in tourism.
Introducing Kobe, Mr. Izushi said that the city has an outstanding advantage between the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, which are favorable conditions to promote tourists to visit and experience a variety of tourism types. Welcoming the Kobe City delegation to work with the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu highly appreciated the programs to promote and advertise tourism in Japan in general and Kobe City in particular, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic. In the new normal period, the whole world is making efforts to restore socio -economic and tourism, as well as enhance international exchanges and cooperation. In 2019, the number of Japanese visitors to Vietnam reached nearly 1 million, nearly double that of Vietnamese visitors to Japan. After the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of Vietnamese tourists to Japan has tended to increase sharply. In the first 7 months of 2023, Japan welcomed nearly 300,000 Vietnamese visitors and Vietnam also welcomed an equivalent number of Japanese visitors in the opposite direction. This shows that Japan has done a very good job of promoting and promoting tourism, implementing tourism stimulus campaigns suitable to the needs of Vietnamese people.
Mr. Izushi Naofumi expressed his hope that the Vietnam National Tourism Administration would discuss solutions to promote exchanges and interactions, increase international flights between Vietnam and Kobe, and attract tourists and tours between the two countries.
Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu suggested that Kobe City consider participating in these tourism cooperation programs between Vietnam and Japan. In addition, it is necessary to open a booth to introduce Kobe City at the International Tourism Fair in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City every year.
At these tourism fairs, the city can implement programs to introduce and stimulate tourism, survey flight routes as well as tourism products for tourism businesses and airlines of the two countries to connect and establish suitable tourism programs. In addition, the city should coordinate with the Japanese representative agency in Vietnam to organize seminars to introduce Kobe tourism to promote preferential policies, unique products, and attractive tourism programs to attract more investors and tourism businesses.
It is known that in 2025, Japan will host the Expo International Fair in Osaka. With its geographical location near Osaka, Kobe needs to take advantage of this to promote tourism. It is necessary to link tourism with famous local products, especially Kobe beef.
On the side of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, it will coordinate with relevant agencies to promote domestic airlines to open round-trip flights between Vietnam and Kobe and promote information about aviation and tourism connections between the two sides.
Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu emphasized that Kobe city in particular and Japan in general are attractive destinations with values of nature, culture, history, and hospitable people. Tourism promotion programs and opening of direct international flights will certainly be opportunities for businesses of the two countries to cooperate and increase the exchange of visitors between Vietnam and Japan.
