Connecting hearts from the model "Singing of love" at Da Nang Hospital

This is a typical "Skilled Mass Mobilization" model implemented by the Tropical Medicine - Artificial Kidney - Oncology - Infection Control Party Cell of the Da Nang Hospital Party Committee, contributing to improving the effectiveness of mass mobilization work in the health sector.

With the aim of providing spiritual and material support to cancer patients, the program “Singing of Love” is held periodically on the last Thursday evening of each month, at the lobby of the Oncology Department (3rd floor, building D, Da Nang Hospital). The venue is conveniently arranged, ensuring that it does not affect the professional activities of other departments and rooms.

To prepare for each music night, the Organizing Committee, including Party members, union members and youth union members in the Party cell, coordinates with the hospital's functional departments such as: Administration, Supplies, Social Work, etc. to carry out logistics, mobilize sponsorship, invite volunteer artists and develop program content.

Information about the music night is widely publicized on the hospital's Fanpage and posted in easy-to-see locations for patients and relatives to follow.

Each music night is a space for sharing, where patients and their relatives can enjoy emotional performances, receive spiritual encouragement and receive meaningful gifts from benefactors.

On average, each program supports 20 - 30 patients, with a total gift value of 15 - 30 million VND.

The program is also a bridge for charitable organizations and individuals to accompany the department in activities to improve the treatment environment; decorate departments and rooms; give gifts on holidays and Tet; support equipment to serve patients, etc.

From mid-2023 to present, the "Singing of Love" model has received strong response from the community, becoming a regular activity, contributing to improving the quality of patient care.

Patient satisfaction with the Oncology Department and the hospital has remained high, above 95% for many consecutive quarters. The demand for medical examination and treatment at the Oncology Department has increased sharply, with bed occupancy reaching nearly 130% in 2024 and 150% in the first 9 months of 2025.

An elderly patient, who has been treated for many years at the Oncology Department, shared: “Every time the program “Singing of Love” takes place, the patients here and I are very happy. Just listening and feeling the melodies of love; joining the doctors, nurses and benefactors in singing, I feel that I am no longer lonely.”

MSc. Dr. Dam Minh Son (Oncology Department) is one of the people who has accompanied the program from the beginning until now.

Doctor Son shared: “Our ancestors used “Singing to drown out the sound of bombs”, using music to encourage the spirit of soldiers and people, bringing with them faith, pride and love for the homeland.

Today, our Oncology Department wants to use music like cool breezes to dispel fatigue, worries, and pain of patients, thereby lighting up hope and helping patients walk firmly on the road ahead."

Dr. Le Quoc Tuan, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Oncology Department, and the initiator of the program, shared: “We believe that treatment is not only about prescribing medicine and performing medical surgical procedures, but also about soothing the patient's spirit.

We want patients to feel that they are not alone in their fight against the disease. Here, they have us by their side - doctors and health workers who not only treat them with medicine but also with humanity."

The “Song of Love” model affirms the important role of mass mobilization work in the health sector. Not only contributing to improving the quality of patient care, the program also spreads profound humanistic values, connects the community, builds trust and satisfaction of patients towards the medical staff.

The music night model "Singing of Love" was awarded a certificate of merit by the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the City Agencies Bloc (old) in 2023; and the Chairman of the City People's Committee awarded a certificate of merit in 2024.

The Tropical Medicine - Artificial Kidney - Oncology - Infection Control Party Cell has been ranked as "Excellently and Well-Completed" for many consecutive years, a bright spot in the mass mobilization work of the Party Committee of Da Nang Hospital.
