After the merger, Lam Dong now has 124 commune-level administrative units, including: 103 communes, 20 wards and 1 special zone. Thanks to investment capital from national target programs, many essential items have been implemented. Since then, the lives of people in rural areas and ethnic minority areas have been significantly improved.

Specifically, regarding the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, out of 103 communes, through preliminary review, Lam Dong has 80 communes meeting new rural standards, 3 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, and 1 commune meeting model new rural standards.

Regarding the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Lam Dong currently has 17,150 multidimensionally poor households. It is expected that by the end of 2025, the number of multidimensionally poor households will decrease to 14,473.

Regarding the National target program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, Lam Dong has 16/19 communes in region III out of extremely difficult areas and 138/236 villages out of extremely difficult areas.

However, the implementation of programs in newly merged areas is facing certain obstacles, leading to the disbursement of funds for poverty reduction not meeting requirements. In addition to some criteria on clean water and environmental sanitation, sustainability is not yet ensured.

In addition, the decentralization and delegation of power when implementing the two-level local government are not deep enough, so the effectiveness of the work is still limited. The commune-level personnel to implement the national target programs still lack synchronization...

Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen said that to overcome the above difficulties, there must be appropriate policies for local authorities at two levels. In implementation, it is necessary to ensure synchronization and unity, from national planning, sectoral planning, local planning... Only then can national target programs promote practical effectiveness, improving a prosperous and happy life for the people.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang acknowledged the results Lam Dong has achieved in implementing the National Target Programs in recent times. The recommendations and proposals of Lam Dong province and the Central Steering Committee for National Target Programs will be accepted and proposed to ministries, departments and branches to have practical solutions suitable to the new situation.
