According to the report of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, from the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year to now, Cao Ba Quat High School has a total of 16 grade 12 students who have requested to leave school, of which 5 students submitted applications to reserve their results, the rest have dropped out or dropped out of school.

The report also affirmed that Circular No. 32 dated September 15, 2020 of the Ministry of Education and Training on promulgating the regulations of junior high schools, high schools and multi-level general schools does not have regulations on reserving students' learning results.

The homeroom teacher advising the student to write a request to reserve his/her academic results is not in accordance with regulations. This reservation request is also not in accordance with regulations, with the confirmation of the homeroom teacher and the principal. The homeroom teacher and the principal are both responsible for this incident.

Currently, the Department of Education and Training continues to direct the verification of related contents to consolidate records and handle collective and individual responsibilities related to this incident.

Previously, as reported by VietNamNet , Ms. HMB (mother of student HGB) reported that on April 15, after the results of the second midterm exam were released, the homeroom teacher invited mother and daughter to meet the principal. After that, B. quietly wrote a leave of absence letter. Ms. B. texted the homeroom teacher to ask for her child to return to school, but the teacher said no because the principal had approved it.

On April 29, the parents continued to meet with the principal and were informed that B. was not approved for the exam because he did not pass it, so he had to repeat the school year.

After receiving information about this incident, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training asked the school to explain and the school leaders confirmed that there was no such thing as mobilizing weak students to drop out of school to increase the graduation rate. However, the Department has set up an inspection team to verify the information.

Currently, student B. has been invited by the school to return to school from May 12.

Many high school students asked to leave school before the graduation exam, the Department established an inspection team . The Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province has established an inspection team to investigate the fact that many 12th grade students at Cao Ba Quat High School (Buon Ma Thuot City) voluntarily left school and reserved their results before the high school graduation exam.
