TPO - On Monday morning, many roads in Ho Chi Minh City were congested, thousands of vehicles jostled to move, inching their way into the city center.

After 7am, Dinh Bo Linh Street (towards the center of Ho Chi Minh City) was packed with people and vehicles.

The road is crowded, some places are occupied for business, making traffic through the area even more difficult.

Some roads in Tan Phu and Tan Binh districts also experienced similar situations, making it very difficult for vehicles to move.

Truong Chinh Street (Tan Binh District) is jammed with people and vehicles.

Vehicles lined up and moved slowly on Cong Hoa Street (Tan Binh District) early Monday morning.

Vo Thi Sau Street (District 3) is also jammed with people and vehicles.

The Vo Thi Sau intersection and Democracy Square roundabout were congested on the morning of January 13.

Informing reporters, Mr. Do Ngoc Hai - Head of the Road Infrastructure Management Department (HCMC Department of Transport) said that it is now the end of the year, the demand for entertainment, recreation and shopping is high, so people's travel demand is also increasing (estimated to increase by about 10%). In addition, some roads in the center of HCMC are holding festivals, road closures and traffic restrictions on some roads, so there is a crowded situation.

Currently, the Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center (HCMC Department of Transport) has researched, proposed and installed additional signs at hundreds of locations, allowing two-wheeled vehicles to turn right at red lights to reduce pressure at some intersections.
