Tourists to Hanoi increase

Nearly 2.4 million tourists visited Hanoi in May.

Of which, international tourists reached 496,500 arrivals, up 46.7% over the same period; domestic tourists reached 1.88 million arrivals, up 10.6% over the same period. Total revenue from tourists reached 9,194 billion VND.

International visitors enjoy visiting famous places in Hanoi and taking souvenir photos with Vietnamese people.

In the first 5 months of 2024, the total number of tourists to Hanoi reached 11.55 million, an increase of 14.0% over the same period in 2023.

With the achieved results, Hanoi Department of Tourism expects that in the first 6 months of 2024, the total number of tourists to Hanoi is estimated at 14.05 million.

Special souvenirs attract tourists.

It is known that Hanoi currently has 3,760 accommodation establishments with 71,246 rooms. Of these, 607 hotels and apartment buildings have been ranked from 1 to 5 stars.

As for standard tourism services, the city currently has 43 food service establishments, 41 shopping service establishments, 7 entertainment establishments, and 2 health care service establishments that have been recognized as meeting standards to serve tourists.

It can be seen that, in the context of domestic and international economy still facing many difficulties and challenges, many economic sectors and fields have low recovery and growth rates, but the capital's tourism industry continues to recover and develop, achieving many positive results.

International tourism organizations, experts, and service businesses continue to nominate and honor Hanoi at prestigious regional and international awards. The World Tourism Organization (WTA) nominated Hanoi Tourism in two categories: Asia's Leading City Break Destination 2024 and Asia's Leading City Destination 2024.

However, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, there are still some limitations that need to be overcome such as: Exploiting and promoting the value of tourism resources is not commensurate with the available potential; lacking tourism products with cultural depth; unprofessional tourism promotion and propaganda activities, lack of close coordination to create a complete service chain between regions and localities, and not being able to connect with craft villages.
