Opening safe swimming class for children from 6 to 15 years old

HNN.VN - On the morning of August 18, the People's Committee of Phu Loc commune coordinated with the Hue City Department of Health and the sponsoring unit to organize the opening of a safe swimming class for children aged 6-15. The class attracted 300 students, divided into 15 classes.

The activity was carried out within the framework of the project "Supporting the implementation of effective and sustainable interventions to prevent and combat child drowning in Hue city by 2025" sponsored by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (USA).

According to the plan, in 2025, the Hue City Child Drowning Prevention Project Coordination Board will organize 88 free safe swimming classes for 1,440 children aged 6-15 in 6 communes and wards: My Thuong, Phu Vinh, Phu Vang, Hung Loc, Loc An and Phu Loc. In addition, the project will also carry out many communication activities, training, seminars and competitions to raise community awareness, enhance drowning prevention skills, and support the building of a sustainable model in child protection.

Organizing a safe swimming class in Phu Loc commune has practical significance, contributing to equipping students with necessary life skills, preventing and minimizing drowning accidents, creating a healthy and safe environment for children to play and practice physical activities in the area.
