With a tradition of more than 47 years of establishment and development, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment has been affirming its position as a Center for training quality human resources, scientific research and technology transfer in the Southern region in particular and the whole country in general, contributing significantly to the sustainable economic development of the country, especially in Ho Chi Minh City and the South.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Quyen, in the face of challenges in the demand for quality human resources of the 4th industrial revolution, the tasks set out in resource management, environmental protection and climate change adaptation of the country, the School has been proactively reviewing and adjusting the training program framework and training program in the direction of Interdisciplinary - Transdisciplinary. Accordingly, the majors and sub-majors in the fields of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change have also been integrated and linked with other professions in the fields of economic science and technology.
Also at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Quyen, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment, believes that the 1,149 new students of the K12 course will continue to develop and inherit to build the University to develop more and more, quickly achieving the goal of becoming a university on par with the region and the world.

Speaking at the ceremony, authorized by the leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr. Chu Ngoc Kien, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, congratulated the achievements of Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment in the 2022-2023 school year. Accordingly, the training quality of the University has been gradually improved and there have been strong and timely changes to meet the strict requirements on the quality of human resources in the field of natural resources and environment in the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution, the digital age.
According to Mr. Chu Ngoc Kien, the upcoming development path of the University still has many difficulties and challenges to implement autonomy according to the Government's policy, while continuing to complete assigned political tasks. Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment needs to continue to improve, continuously improve the quality of training through innovation in teaching methods; periodically review, adjust, and supplement according to the Training Program Framework, in accordance with the practical needs of society, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary orientation.

Right after the opening ceremony of the new school year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment also held a graduation ceremony for the second batch of regular university graduates for 514 new bachelors and engineers.
