Along with practical activities, from 2004 to present, the People's Army Newspaper has presided over and coordinated with the Vietnam Cycling - Motor Sports Federation and related agencies, units and localities to successfully organize 4 bicycle races to Dien Bien Phu, People's Army Newspaper Cup, leaving many impressions and creating high prestige in terms of expertise along with meaningful gratitude activities. In order to prepare for the bicycle race "To Dien Bien Phu - 2024, People's Army Newspaper Cup", in the past time, the People's Army Newspaper has closely coordinated with related agencies, units and localities to actively prepare all aspects.
Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet requested that the Steering Committee, Organizing Committee, and referees of the race always thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the objectives, requirements, regulations, rules, and assigned tasks, uphold responsibility, make every effort, and fulfill their duties of directing, organizing, and operating the race scientifically , impartially, fairly, smoothly, accurately, effectively, safely, and practically.

Each athlete and coach upholds the spirit of solidarity, honesty, nobility, confidence, never giving up, competing and dedicating themselves with the will to be faster, stronger, higher, towards the healthy development of the country's sports and for the fans.
According to the Organizing Committee, wherever the race passes, the participating forces ensure conditions for athletes to compete safely, achieve the best results, and at the same time encourage the majority of people in the capital to participate in cheering, creating momentum, spreading the value and meaning of the race.

At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions in Hanoi. Within the framework of the race, the total amount of money spent on social security activities reached nearly 10 billion VND.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Race, declared the opening of the "Back to Dien Bien Phu-2024, People's Army Newspaper Cup" Cycling Race. After the flag-raising ceremony, 70 racers from 10 racing teams competed in the first stage with a route of 24 laps around Hoan Kiem Lake (40.8km).

Taking place from May 1 to 5, the "Back to Dien Bien Phu - 2024, People's Army Newspaper Cup" bicycle race will compete on a total route of more than 500km from Hanoi to Dien Bien Phu City. Each stage is a chapter recalling the heroic tradition, including 5 stages: "Thang Long - a thousand years of culture" (live broadcast, racing around Hoan Kiem Lake - Hanoi), "The whole army launches" (Hanoi - Mai Chau, Hoa Binh), "Opening the way to the Northwest" (Van Ho, Son La - Son La City), "Advancing to Muong Thanh" (Son La City - Dien Bien Phu City), "Song of Victory" (live broadcast, racing around Dien Bien Phu City).
Tomorrow morning (May 2), the racers will compete in stage 2 from Hanoi to Mai Chau (Hoa Binh) with a route of 132km.
