Opening of the Fair connecting trade and promoting Vietnamese-Lao enterprises' products in 2025

This morning, November 20, in Vientiane, Laos, the Vietnam - Laos Trade Connection and Product Promotion Fair 2025 officially opened.

The fair is jointly organized by the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Laos. This is an activity under the National Trade Promotion Program 2025. Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defense of Vietnam attended and delivered the opening speech.

Also attending were Comrade Nguyen Minh Tam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Laos; Senior Lieutenant General Vongsone Inpanphim, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Lao People's Army; representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, ministries and branches of the two countries.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang emphasized that the Fair took place in a solemn atmosphere towards the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, an activity of profound significance in consolidating and fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States, two Armies and peoples of the two countries.

Senior Lieutenant General Vongsone Inpanphim, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Lao People's Army, emphasized that this is an important event to promote cooperation, economic development and national defense of the two countries. The Lao Party, State and people always respect and are grateful to Vietnam for always standing side by side to help Laos overcome difficulties and gradually develop sustainably.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense presented many gifts to policy families; donated some computer equipment to the Lao Ministry of National Defense and commended a number of businesses that have made many contributions to social security activities.

The fair gathered many enterprises inside and outside the military with many typical products of Vietnam and Laos. Each booth was a message of creativity, trust and aspiration to grow together of the two economies. This was an opportunity for enterprises of the two countries to strengthen connections, share opportunities, and develop together sustainably in the ASEAN cooperation space.

The highlight of the fair is the exhibition space dedicated to the Vietnam People's Army, introducing typical images, documents and artifacts about the journey of solidarity between the two brotherly armies, along with Vietnam's achievements in economic development associated with strengthening national defense and security.

Not only is it a trade promotion event, but it is also a vivid demonstration of the faithful friendship and close bond between the two nations. From today's exhibition space, the trust and desire for cooperation are rekindled, opening up new journeys, bringing the Vietnam - Laos relationship to increasingly deeper and broader development.

Previously, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang and the delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos. The leaders of the Ministry of National Defense highly appreciated the contributions of Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam and his staff in strengthening the relationship between the two Parties, the two States, the two Ministries of National Defense and the two peoples, especially the solutions to support the economic development of Laos. Hopefully, in the coming time, the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos will continue to have many suggestions to contribute and help military units successfully complete their tasks in Laos.
