On the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day November 23, on the morning of November 22, Da Nang Museum held the opening ceremony of "Da Nang Cultural Heritage Festival 2025" with the theme "Diverse cultural colors of Da Nang highlands" .

Honoring the cultural colors of the highlands
The event aims to introduce and honor the unique traditional cultural values of the Co Tu, Xo Dang, Gie Trieng and Cor ethnic groups living in the mountainous areas west of the city.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of Da Nang Museum Huynh Dinh Quoc Thien said: Da Nang is a land rich in cultural traditions, once the center of Sa Huynh culture, ancient Champa civilization, culture of indigenous ethnic groups, and associated with many important milestones of national history.
Over many generations, the Vietnamese people on their journey to the South have interacted and assimilated with the local culture, contributing to the formation of the unique cultural identity of Quang Nam. These values are the priceless heritage that we have inherited, and at the same time, are an important resource contributing to the building of a united, harmonious and sustainably developed Da Nang.

According to Mr. Thien, the mountainous area of the city is the long-standing residence of the ethnic groups Co Tu, Xo Dang, Gie - Trieng, Cor. The ethnic groups still preserve many typical traditional cultural features, expressed through their material and spiritual life such as: farming methods, stilt house architecture, brocade weaving, basketry, culinary culture, customs, beliefs and festivals, etc.
“Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minorities in particular and national cultural heritage in general is of special importance in the current period of integration and development,” said Mr. Thien.
