The first International Security Forum, organized by the Russian Federal Security Council, opened on May 26th in Moscow and will last for four days, with the participation of hundreds of delegates from more than 120 countries.
According to the Russian Security Council – the main organizing body of the event – discussions at the forum focused on a range of global security issues, including protecting “traditional values,” combating “neocolonialism,” and “neo-fascism.”
The forum brought together representatives from most African countries (50/54), along with partners in the SCO, BRICS and ASEAN, as well as many countries in the Middle East and Latin America, representing approximately 70% of the world's population.
Within the framework of the forum, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu will chair a meeting with his counterparts from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
The meeting is expected to review the political and military situation in the collective security area and the organization's activities during the mid-term period, as well as discuss priority directions for 2026.

According to information from the Russian side, several decisions aimed at strengthening the collective security system and improving the operational efficiency of the CSTO secretariat will also be signed at this event.
The forum program includes numerous thematic workshops on issues such as cybersecurity, countering information interference, energy security, illegal migration, and international cooperation in combating extremism.
In addition, several Russian agencies and corporations also showcased equipment and technologies in the fields of defense, security, healthcare, and space, including air defense systems, space technology, and mobile medical equipment.
The Russian side emphasized that the forum serves as a platform to promote global security dialogue and enhance cooperation among nations in the context of a volatile international security environment.
