Opening of the 2nd meeting of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity of Da Nang City

On the afternoon of October 13, the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity of Da Nang City (Steering Committee) held the opening session of the second meeting to give opinions on some contents and deploy some work in the coming time.

Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, chaired the meeting.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said: After the merger of the two localities, the workload of the Steering Committee has increased significantly. However, the activities of the Steering Committee are still being implemented in a drastic, synchronous and methodical manner, in line with the spirit of the Central Steering Committee as well as the work plan of the two previous localities and Da Nang city after the merger.

In recent times, the work of detecting and handling corruption, waste and negativity has continued to be promoted. A number of complicated cases and cases of public concern have been directed to be handled in accordance with legal regulations, ensuring progress.

The recovery of assets in corruption and economic cases has achieved many results. The Steering Committee also considers this one of the key tasks in handling corruption and economic cases.

There are cases where the amount of money collected for the State budget is higher than the amount of damage caused. This is a bright spot in the work of recovering assets in corruption cases.

Accordingly, the Steering Committee has directed the Standing Office of the Steering Committee to coordinate with relevant agencies and advise on the implementation of the Politburo 's and the Central Steering Committee's conclusions on preventing corruption, waste, and negativity.

Especially the regulations on power control, focusing on implementing waste prevention work in the spirit of direction of General Secretary To Lam, Head of the Central Steering Committee.

At the same time, well implement the recommendations of the State Inspectorate and Audit. The Steering Committee also advised the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to implement Conclusion No. 77-KL/TW dated June 5, 2020 of the Politburo on the policy of overcoming the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic to restore and develop the country's economy.

At the meeting, the Steering Committee will give opinions on 11 major contents, including opinions on cases and incidents that have been monitored and directed by the City Steering Committee since the first meeting; Report on proposals to bring cases under the monitoring of the Steering Committee; report on results of asset recovery; report on implementation of Conclusion No. 77-KL/TW of the Politburo;...
