On the afternoon of October 2, at the Gia Lai Provincial Convention Center (No. 1 Nguyen Tat Thanh, Quy Nhon Ward), the preparatory session of the 1st Gia Lai Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030 officially took place in a solemn, united and responsible atmosphere.
Implementing Directive No. 45-CT/TW of the Politburo and with the approval of the Politburo and the Secretariat, the 1st Congress of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee was held for 3 days (from October 2 to 4).
Before the preparatory session, delegates participated in the flower offering ceremony at the Nguyen Sinh Sac-Nguyen Tat Thanh Monument (Nguyen Tat Thanh Square), expressing deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and predecessors, and affirming the spirit of continuing the glorious revolutionary tradition of the Party Committee and people of Gia Lai province.
The preparatory session was attended by 650 delegates, including 449 official delegates representing 139 affiliated party committees and more than 147,000 party members in the province, along with 200 invited delegates. Also attending the preparatory session were representatives of the Central Party Committees and reporters from central and local press agencies.
Comrade Ho Quoc Dung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was unanimously introduced to chair the preparatory session. At the working session, the Congress elected a Presidium of 18 comrades, a Secretariat of 3 comrades and a Delegate Qualification Examination Board of 7 comrades.
The important contents approved include: the official Congress program, working regulations, Congress rules, list of delegate groups and instructions for collecting opinions by ballot on 33 main targets for the 2025-2030 term (including 10 economic targets, 14 social targets, 7 environmental targets and 2 Party building targets).
Notably, at the preparatory session, delegates expressed the spirit of mutual love and support for people in provinces that are heavily affected by floods . All delegates donated directly at the hall, demonstrating the social responsibility and deep affection of cadres and party members towards people in disaster areas.
The donations will be transferred to the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to promptly support affected localities.
In parallel with the official activities, the Provincial Convention Center campus organized a photo exhibition titled “Imprints of the 2020-2025 term” with hundreds of typical images reflecting outstanding achievements in various fields. The exhibition attracted the attention of many delegates, contributing to arousing pride and responsibility in the new development path.
In addition, booths displaying typical OCOP products of the province were also arranged in the lobby and conference corridor. More than 50 typical products from districts, towns and cities were introduced and promoted, demonstrating the diversity, creativity and potential for rural economic development associated with local cultural identity.
The 1st Gia Lai Provincial Party Congress is an important political event, taking place at a time of historical significance when the whole country has just completed the revolution of streamlining the organizational apparatus and gone through 40 years of renovation.
With the motto "Solidarity-Democracy-Discipline-Breakthrough-Development", the Congress clearly defined viewpoints, goals, key tasks and breakthroughs to bring Gia Lai firmly into a new era of development.
The official opening session of the Congress will take place at 7:30 a.m. on October 3 and will be broadcast live on GTV channel of Gia Lai Newspaper and Radio and Television Station.
