Lam Dong speeds up site clearance for irrigation projects

On October 2, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen chaired a meeting on the implementation of irrigation projects; using support funds from the central budget reserve in 2023 to overcome the consequences of natural disasters in Lam Dong of thousands of flowers and Lam Dong of great forests.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong, the total planned capital for 2025 assigned by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to invest in irrigation projects is 260 billion VND. As of September 23, 2025, 15.7 billion VND has been disbursed for construction; 42.3 billion VND has been cleared for site clearance, equivalent to 22% of the plan.

The biggest difficulties at present are slow compensation and site clearance, scarce material supply, high material prices and the rainy season in the key construction areas. Therefore, it has greatly affected the construction progress and the capital disbursement plan for 2025.

Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Environment is continuing to carry out site clearance compensation and support to start construction of the project according to the plan of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities to strengthen advocacy, propaganda, and create consensus among people in site clearance, compensation, support and resettlement. From there, to deploy bidding, speed up construction progress, and disburse investment capital for irrigation, traffic and disaster prevention projects in the area.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the communes and investors to coordinate in establishing teams to review, count, and classify each area of land to be recovered, cleared, and compensated. At the same time, determine specific and public land prices based on the consensus of the people to speed up the progress of implementation and completion of the project.

The implementation process must be associated with inspection and control work, ensuring compensation and site clearance in accordance with legal regulations. In particular, it is necessary to divide investment periods and commit to disbursing capital according to the set plan. Every two weeks, units must report implementation results and difficulties and problems to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee for timely direction.
