After more than 4 months of construction, the project to repair the Ben Thau suspension bridge across the Chay River has been completed, ensuring to serve the travel needs of the people.

Ben Thau suspension bridge connects the old Xuan Thuong commune (now Bao Yen commune) with National Highway 70, through Phuc Khanh commune.

This is the route that ensures travel for hundreds of households in the old Xuan Thuong commune, Phuc Khanh commune and neighboring areas.

The bridge was damaged by storm No. 3 at the end of 2024.

The repair unit has dismantled the old bridge, replaced the main cable system, anti-wave cables, anti-cross cables; replaced part of the railing; replaced all steel longitudinal beams; redesigned all steel cross beams; designed the bridge deck with 5 mm thick corrugated iron, and designed an anti-slip design on the bridge deck... The total estimated cost of the project is 4.5 billion VND.

The completion of the bridge contributes to ending the traffic separation between the two banks, helping people travel and exchange goods conveniently.
