On the morning of June 2, the Department of Industry and Trade held the opening ceremony of the final round of the 2024 Golden Hand Embroidery Competition.
There were 24 contestants participating in the preliminary round and the Organizing Committee selected 21 contestants for the final round. In the final round, the contestants participated in live demonstrations of their skills at the embroidery exhibition area.
During the 2 days, the contestants will embroider a picture/pattern (including white embroidery and colored embroidery) according to the sample provided by the Organizing Committee. All materials (thread, fabric, embroidery frame, scissors, needles, etc.) used in the final round will be provided by the Organizing Committee.
The 2024 Ninh Binh Province Golden Hand Embroidery Competition was held at Van Lam embroidery village, Ninh Hai commune to introduce typical features of Ninh Binh province's handicraft products to serve tourism , especially the traditional Van Lam embroidery - a cultural beauty of Tam Coc, Ninh Binh.
The competition is organized to encourage and motivate artisans and skilled workers to promote their love for the profession, contributing to preserving and developing the local embroidery craft. At the same time, it creates conditions and opportunities for embroiderers and tourists to exchange, learn, and share experiences, techniques, and embroidery skills.
