Xuan Son protective forest located in Chau Duc district (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) is a forest planted since 1980 under the program of reforesting bare land, bare hills and reforestation.

After more than 40 years of being planted, this is considered the most intact forest in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province and is strictly protected.

The forest is located on Xuan Son - Da Bac route, with a total area of about 360 hectares, made up of many precious woods such as black muong, red go, dau... but mainly star trees with different sizes and ages.

In addition to its protective forest function and creating a landscape for the environment, this forest is considered a "green lung" for the surrounding area.

On hot days, when going on Xuan Son - Da Bac route to the middle of the forest covered by rows of straight trees, you will feel the cool air, a pleasant and refreshing feeling.

Birds chirp and fly among the forest canopy. The trees are marked in order for management and protection.

Along the route, it is easy to see precious trees with large, straight trunks and wide canopies.

Xuan Son forest is a low hill forest, has convenient traffic routes in and out of the forest, is adjacent to agricultural land and surrounded by residential areas, so forest protection work is always taken seriously.

According to Chau Duc-Ba Ria Forest Ranger Department, right from the beginning of the dry season, forest rangers held meetings with forest fire watch teams, assigned tasks and assigned areas to each person to carry out forest fire prevention and fighting work.

The firemen also propagate and ask people living near the forest to sign a commitment to implement forest fire prevention and fighting measures. They coordinate with the forest rangers, management boards, forest contracting units, etc. to continuously patrol to protect the forest. Thanks to that, after decades, the forest has remained almost intact.
