
Since the morning of July 12, heavy rain has occurred in Sa Pa Ward. Sa Pa Ward Police have sent working groups to the area to assess the situation, especially in areas at risk of landslides, to promptly warn and evacuate people to safety.
Through the situation, the Sa Pa Ward Police discovered a large amount of rock and soil behind the family of Mr. Giang A Dinh (residing in Ham Rong 1 group) that was at risk of landslide, threatening the life and property of the family. The ward police mobilized and helped Mr. Giang A Dinh's family of 4 members to evacuate people and property to a safe place.
On the same day, the Sa Pa Ward Police force received a report from the people about Mr. Hoang Van Thu's household (also residing in Ham Rong 1 group) being flooded by rainwater and mud. Immediately after receiving the report, the Ward Police leaders assigned forces to assist the family in cleaning up mud, mopping the floor, and moving important belongings to limit economic damage and help the family stabilize their lives.
In Ban Lau commune, localized heavy rains also affected some areas at high risk of landslides. The Party Committee and the commune government directed the commune police force to coordinate with the commune military force to review areas at risk of landslides; mobilized the grassroots security force of Ban Lau commune to evacuate and move the assets of 11 households in Na Ha village to a safe place.
It is forecasted that from now until the end of July 13, thunderstorms will continue, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain; there is a risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, affecting traffic, life and infrastructure. The government and relevant agencies recommend that people pay attention, proactively evacuate people and property from areas at risk of landslides; and be cautious when traveling on roads affected by floods.
