According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, Tran Phuoc Son, in the first 6 months of the year, the Standing Committee of the City People's Council has specified and issued more than 250 documents directing, implementing, and urging progress to ensure compliance with the set programs and plans, promptly adjusting and supplementing tasks in accordance with the situation and practical requirements of the city. The Standing Committee of the City People's Council has specified 16 monitoring topics, while maintaining regular activities, completing the organization of regular monthly meetings with the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; 28 weekly expanded meetings of the Standing Committee of the City People's Council and extraordinary meetings to promptly consider and decide on issues within its authority. Since the beginning of the year, the City People's Council has successfully organized 3 thematic meetings to pass important policies and guidelines and perfect personnel work within its authority. The Standing Committee of the City People's Council has also closely coordinated with the City People's Committee and relevant agencies in advising on the organization of the preliminary review of Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2019 of the
Politburo on the construction and development of Da Nang City to 2030, with a vision to 2045. On that basis, the
Politburo issued Conclusion No. 79-KL/TW dated May 13, 2024 on continuing to implement Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW and the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15. These will be solid foundations and new driving forces for the city's socio-economic development in the coming time. According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, between the two regular sessions of the City People's Council, the Standing Committee and Committees of the City People's Council have proactively deployed activities to supervise the implementation of the resolutions of the City People's Council; commitments to question and answer questions, results of handling voters' opinions and recommendations. In June, the Standing Committee of the City People's Council also successfully organized a conference to meet voters on the topic "People's Council with the civil defense and militia forces", in order to promptly listen to the thoughts, aspirations and recommendations of the civil defense and militia forces, as a basis for the City People's Council to consider and pass 2 resolutions at the 18th session regulating the criteria for establishment, criteria for quantity and regimes, policies and conditions to ensure the operation of the forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council said that since the beginning of the year, the Standing Committee of the City People's Council has received and processed more than 604 petitions and letters from citizens and organizations; organized 1 meeting to explain the petitions and letters. In addition, the Standing Committee and Committees of the City People's Council have organized many meetings with the City People's Committee and related departments and branches to resolve petitions of citizens, organizations and businesses. "In the first 6 months of the year, facing intertwined advantages and challenges, the Standing Committee of the City People's Council has also innovated its working methods in the direction of expanding the scope, improving quality, professionalism and efficiency", said the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council. According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, Tran Phuoc Son, in order to effectively implement the work in the last 6 months of 2024, the Standing Committee of the City People's Council will focus on a number of tasks such as urgently and effectively implementing Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15, including researching and promptly proposing specific policies and mechanisms to ensure the development of key
economic sectors according to Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW and Conclusion No. 79-KL/TW of the Politburo. Along with that, the Standing Committee of the City People's Council resolutely and synchronously implemented the plan to implement the annual theme in conjunction with effectively implementing tasks and solutions according to the resolutions of the City Party Committee and the resolutions of the City People's Council on tasks in 2024. Fully and effectively implemented the remaining thematic supervisions in the year, and at the same time organized the supervision of the implementation of
socio -economic development tasks, national defense and security in conjunction with the implementation of urban government organization in districts and wards in the city. The Standing Committee of the City People's Council continued to maintain and organize regular meetings well in a creative, effective and quality direction. In particular, it continued to research and propose innovations in meeting formats in conjunction with other activities to enhance the role of non-professional delegates; increase sessions to explain petitions and letters; Monitor and urge the implementation of resolutions of the City People's Council, the results of handling voters' opinions and recommendations, notify the conclusions of the Standing Committee of the City People's Council and issues committed to be completed during the year. Maintain the organization of the program "People's Council with voters" between two sessions of the City People's Council; meet with voters on special topics; focus on coordination with the National Assembly Delegation, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city to enhance the role, responsibility and quality of activities, especially promptly handling urgent and prominent issues of the city and providing feedback in the development of policies in the city. The Standing Committee of the City People's Council focuses on the work of people's petitions, directs the implementation, improves the effectiveness of citizen reception and voter contact activities; strengthens responsibility in handling urgent opinions and recommendations of voters and petitions and letters of citizens.
