Urgent handling of "3 no" fishing boats

The provincial People's Committee has just directed departments, branches and coastal localities to urgently review, compile statistics and have a direction to handle "3 no" fishing vessels (no registration, no inspection, no fishing license) in the province. Localities focus on classifying them into groups such as fishing vessel length, fishing vessel capacity... and review what records and papers these fishing vessels lack, and provide specific instructions for fishermen to overcome them.

 

According to the provincial Fisheries Department, there are currently 2,847 fishing vessels in Phu Yen , of which 1,967 have been registered in the national fishing vessel data system. There are currently 880 "3 no" fishing vessels that have not been registered in the national fishing vessel data system...

 

It is expected that around October 2024, the European Commission (EC) Inspection Team will continue to visit Vietnam to conduct the fifth inspection. In order to effectively combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in the province, coastal localities need to strictly implement the directions of the central government and the province, especially focusing on implementing urgent tasks and solutions, focusing on combating IUU fishing, and removing the EC's yellow card warning.
