Many restaurants in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang are honored by Michelin Guide.

The highlight of this year is the emergence of new faces with potential and creativity. The MICHELIN Guide recognizes not only the efforts in food quality, but also the progress in space, culinary experience and commitment to sustainable development of the honored establishments.

This year, CieL restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City was awarded a MICHELIN star for the first time. This is the achievement of chef Le Viet Hong, who has 14 years of experience in the culinary industry and studied at the Ferrandi school (France). CieL stands out with its modern cooking style, a subtle combination of French techniques and Vietnamese inspiration.

Another highlight is Coco Dining, a restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City that has been upgraded from MICHELIN Selected to one MICHELIN star. With a 12-course menu reflecting five different culinary philosophies, Coco Dining scores points for its creative combination of local ingredients and modern techniques, under the talented hands of chef Vo Thanh Vuong.

Hanoi has the first restaurant to receive MICHELIN green star

In this year's list, Lamai Garden became the first restaurant in Hanoi to receive a MICHELIN green star, a title given to establishments that demonstrate a commitment to sustainable development. Founded by chef Tran Hieu Trung, who trained at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, Lamai Garden pursues a "farm-to-table" model with seasonal and environmentally friendly ingredients, providing an elegant, modern culinary experience.

This year’s Bib Gourmand Awards continue to recognize the vitality of traditional cuisine, with a total of 63 locations awarded the title, including 9 establishments honored for the first time. Vietnamese specialties such as pho, bun bo, bun rieu, banh xeo, and mi quang continue to conquer the judges thanks to their pure flavors and reasonable prices.

In Hanoi, addresses such as Ha Thanh Mansion, Mau Dich So 37, Chan Cam eel noodles, Lam beef noodles and Uu Dam made the list. Da Nang, which was included in the MICHELIN Guide for the first time, also made its mark with restaurants such as Banh Xeo 76, Bun Bo Hue Ba Thuong, Que Xua and Shamballa.

Honoring outstanding individuals in the culinary industry

The MICHELIN Guide 2025 also presented three special individual awards. The Outstanding Young Chef award went to Le Viet Hong (CieL, Ho Chi Minh City) for his impressive journey of self-study, entrepreneurship and creativity. The Sommelier Award went to Paul Vo (Nephele, Ho Chi Minh City) for his ability to delicately pair wines with each meal.

The Dedication Award was given to Mr. Nha Huynh (Man Moi, Thu Duc City) for his dedication and professionalism in customer service.

The MICHELIN Guide 2025 presents a panoramic view of the dynamic development of Vietnamese cuisine. Not only is the elevation of high-end restaurants, this year's list also recognizes the value and vitality of traditional cuisine, from street food to modern, sustainable models.

This not only brings pride to the culinary industry but also opens up opportunities for tourism development, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to Vietnam with unique and memorable culinary experiences.
