Khanh Hoa connects 3 rivers to create a 26 km tourist belt

Khanh Hoa is nurturing a bold idea of ​​connecting the Tac River, Quan Truong River with the Cai River to create a unique waterway tourism route in the Central region.

On July 21, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoa Nam chaired a meeting on the project to renovate and beautify the two rivers Tac and Quan Truong in combination with tourism development. This is considered a breakthrough in the strategy to turn Khanh Hoa into an international-class tourist destination.

According to the consultant's report, the two rivers Quan Truong and Tac, which flow through the wards of Tay Nha Trang, Bac Nha Trang and Nam Nha Trang (belonging to the old Nha Trang City), are facing serious encroachment on the riverbed. Illegal aquaculture activities not only obstruct the flow but also pollute the environment, destroying the inherent natural beauty. The renovation and improvement of these two rivers combined with tourism development is extremely necessary and in line with the planning orientation of Nha Trang City (old) until 2040, which has been approved by the Prime Minister .

The consulting unit said that the Tac River and Quan Truong River will be connected with the Cai River to form an ecological - tourism - cultural belt of up to 26 km long. This will be the first synchronized waterway transport system in Vietnam, opening up opportunities for tourism development according to a completely new model.

The highlight of the project is the detailed planning of each sub-area with its own unique characteristics. Quan Truong River will be divided into 5 sub-areas with an oceanic riverside style: Hoai Niem sub-area 2.7 km long, Lam Ha sub-area 1.5 km long, Thuong Pho sub-area 1.5 km long, Mai Hoa sub-area 1.3 km long and Thuong Hoi sub-area 3 km long. Meanwhile, Tac River is designed in a natural ecological direction with 4 sub-areas, emphasizing "returning the wildness" to the river.

In addition, the project also has a cruise route combined with an ecological riverside promenade, allowing visitors to experience everything from nostalgic spaces to pristine natural landscapes, all in the same journey of discovery.

Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoa Nam requested relevant units to urgently complete the design concept to submit to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee in July 2025. This project not only solves environmental problems but also creates new momentum for Khanh Hoa tourism industry.
