1. Hue Festival
Hue Festival is an outstanding international cultural and artistic event, previously held every two years in even-numbered years. From 2022, the festival will switch to the model of "Four-Season Festival" with a series of activities throughout the year. Each edition has its own theme, such as 2018 with "Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development - Hue, a Destination of Five Heritages" or 2020 with "Hue, Always New". Participating in the festival, visitors can immerse themselves in a rich artistic space: street performances, poetry readings, exhibitions, concerts, drum dances and historical film screenings. In 2025, Hue Festival will definitely return on a special scale, associated with the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025, taking place throughout the four seasons. Highlights include the Ancient Capital Martial Arts Festival, Ao Dai Festival, International Lantern Festival, Music Festival and the New Year Countdown program. With the orientation of "year-round festivals", Hue Festival 2025 promises to bring rich experiences, so that at any time of visiting Hue, visitors can fully feel the festival atmosphere of the ancient capital.
2. Hon Chen Temple Festival

The most special and also the most anticipated part is the procession of the Holy Mother on the Perfume River. This ceremony is performed by “bang” boats – a unique means of transport of the people of Hue. The harmony between the sacred space and the river landscape has created a colorful festival picture, attracting a large number of visitors, contributing to affirming the unique cultural beauty of the ancient capital.

4. Bai Choi Festival in Hue
- Time: from the 1st to the 10th of Lunar New Year
- Location: Thanh Thuy village, Hue
Bài Chòi is one of the festivals in Hue that bears the mark of folk culture, currently only Thanh Thủy Chánh village still maintains this custom. The most attractive point of the Bài Chòi festival is the improvisation and creativity: the announcer relies on familiar folk songs to transform them into witty verses, combined with rustic, close but still unique folk songs.
Not only is it a folk game for entertainment, the Bài Chòi festival is also an opportunity for locals and tourists to immerse themselves in the spring atmosphere, meet, chat and connect with the community. For the people of Thanh Thuy in particular and Hue in general, this has become an indispensable cultural beauty, contributing to preserving and spreading traditional values in modern life.
5. Boat racing festival on the Perfume River
- Time: September 2nd

The opening drumbeat sounded as the boats raced away amid the enthusiastic cheers of a large audience, from the elderly to children. Not only providing entertainment value, the boat racing festival is also an opportunity to train health, endurance, and at the same time preserve the long-standing cultural beauty along the poetic Huong River.
It can be said that festivals in Hue are the “soul” of the heritage land, both preserving traditional beauty and bringing unique experiences to visitors from near and far. If you have the opportunity to visit the ancient capital, do not miss the opportunity to participate in these festivals to not only visit the scenic spots but also live in a unique cultural atmosphere, hard to find anywhere else.
