According to the report of Uar commune, due to the impact of storm No. 13, from November 6-9, 2025, there was moderate to heavy rain in the commune, causing great damage to the locality.
Although there were no human casualties, 02 houses had their roofs completely blown off, 02 houses had their roofs partially blown off; 47.5 hectares of rice, over 102 hectares of perennial trees and over 39 hectares of vegetables and crops were damaged by the storm; 200 trees planted along inter-village, intra-village and office roads were knocked down with damage of >70%.
Storm No. 13 also severely damaged the inter-village roads of Buon Thanh Cong - Buon Nung - Buon Ia Jip and the intra-village roads of Buon Suoi Cam, Buon Chu Krih, Thanh Binh, An Binh, Huy Hoang, Quynh Phu, and Hung Phu; canals were filled with mud and sand; 2.31 hectares of fish ponds were washed away. The total estimated damage was over 25.5 billion VND.

The leader of Uar commune said that currently in the commune, Buon Nu is located in the North of the commune, surrounded by the Ba River with low-lying terrain so it is often flooded. Buon Nu has 453 households with 2,251 people, mainly ethnic minorities. Before storm No. 13, the People's Committee of the commune organized the evacuation of more than 200 households with 738 people of Buon Nu to a safe place.
Up to this point, there are still 49 households in Nu village whose houses are flooded with water of an average depth of about 30 cm. Currently, 3 households are temporarily staying at Nu village Cultural House, 6 households are living in stilt houses on flooded land, and the remaining households are temporarily staying at relatives' houses.
Faced with unusual weather developments, the Commune People's Committee has conducted surveys and researched options for draining water into the Ba River to avoid local flooding in Nu village. However, to ensure the stability of low-lying residents, Uar Commune requested the Provincial People's Committee to pay attention to allocating capital to implement resettlement areas to soon relocate flooded households in Nu village and part of Toat village to a safe place.

After listening to the report of Uar commune and checking the situation, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Mah Tiep requested the local government and people to absolutely not be subjective or negligent; be ready for situations of rain exceeding forecasts, floods rising rapidly, not to be passive or surprised.
Along with that, closely monitor the warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of heavy rain, risks of floods, inundation, flash floods, landslides; provide timely and complete information to people to proactively prevent. Proactively review, organize the relocation and evacuation of people to safe places and have plans to support food and necessities for people at evacuation sites; especially in areas with high risk of landslides; areas with high risk of flooding. Prepare forces, means, equipment, necessities according to the "4 on-site" motto to be ready to respond to all situations, especially for areas at risk of being isolated when heavy rain occurs.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Mah Tiep requested relevant departments and branches to consider and advise the Provincial People's Committee to soon arrange capital for Uar commune to build a resettlement area for people in disaster-affected areas.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Mah Tiep said that in the face of increasingly complex and extreme climate change, directly affecting the lives, production and threatening the lives of the people, especially in areas along rivers, streams, coastal areas, low-lying areas, and areas at risk of landslides, the province is urgently directing the development of a master plan for arranging and stabilizing residents in disaster-prone areas in the province to proactively prevent and combat natural disasters in a fundamental, long-term and sustainable manner, ensuring absolute safety for people's lives and property./.
