Vietnam tourism breaks through in the 'golden season' at the end of the year

The last months of the year are the "golden season" of Vietnam's tourism industry, when destinations become bustling and vibrant, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. With the goal of welcoming 25 million international visitors by 2025, businesses have launched many stimulus programs and attractive incentives to welcome this peak season.

Year-end momentum

According to the General Statistics Office ( Ministry of Finance ), in the first 10 months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed nearly 17.2 million international visitors, an increase of 21.5% over the same period last year. Of which, visitors arriving by air reached 14.6 million, accounting for 84.9% of international visitors and an increase of 21.8% over the same period last year; by road reached 2.4 million, accounting for 13.9% and an increase of 21.4%; by sea reached 205.1 thousand, accounting for 1.2% and an increase of 8.5%.

Asia remains the key market, accounting for the highest proportion with more than 13.6 million visitors, up 21% over the same period in 2024; of which, visitors mostly come from Korea, China, Japan and ASEAN. Europe is the second largest market with more than 2.1 million visitors, up sharply by 34.9% over the same period. This is the highest increase among the regions, at the same time affirming the attractiveness of Vietnamese tourism .

In addition, revenue targets also achieved positive results. Tourism revenue in the first 10 months is estimated at VND77,400 billion, up 19.8% over the same period; revenue from accommodation and catering services is estimated at VND695,100 billion, up 14.6%. Key tourism localities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa and Phu Quoc all recorded a steady increase in the number of international visitors compared to the same period. Many new tourist destinations, experiential tourism products, green tourism, and cultural tourism have been invested in thoroughly, contributing to attracting visitors to stay longer and spend more.

Along with the recovery of the international market, domestic tourism has also become vibrant. Short trips and weekend breaks to destinations such as Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh or Sa Pa are the main trend. A representative of Paradise Vietnam, a luxury cruise and hotel business in Ha Long, said that domestic tourists are now looking for private holidays, focusing on experiences and willing to spend more on high-end products.

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, thanks to a flexible visa policy and a series of international promotion programs, the tourism industry is facing the opportunity for breakthrough growth in the final months of the year, creating a solid foundation to achieve the 2025 goal.

Speed ​​up to catch the trend

As demand increases, travel agencies are gearing up for the peak season, offering many attractive promotions and new products. In the last two months of the year, Paradise Vietnam expects its average room occupancy rate to reach 80%. The company has launched many promotional programs such as a 10% discount on all MICE packages and a 30% discount for guests staying three nights or more.

For international visitors, the "cruise + round-trip Limousine Hanoi - Ha Long" combo is popular thanks to its convenience and cost savings. Since September, the number of visitors to Paradise Vietnam has increased sharply, especially from Taiwan (China), Canada, India, Spain, and South Korea. Taking advantage of the popular luxury experience model combined with local values, this business has put into operation the new cruise ship Paradise Legacy, attracting international visitors and MICE groups.

Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company, one of the leading travel brands in Vietnam, also recorded positive signals from the market. According to Mr. Pham Van Bay, Deputy Director of Vietravel Hanoi branch, by the end of 2025, the domestic and international tourist markets have recorded positive growth signals.

For domestic tourists, inter-route discovery tours such as the Central Highlands - Da Lat, the Central region - Following the footsteps of Truong Son, the West, Phu Quoc always have high occupancy rates, with package prices starting from only 7.19 million VND. The East - Northwest tourism product line in beautiful seasons such as Ha Giang, Moc Chau, Sa Pa, Ta Xua with prices starting from 1.99 million VND continues to be popular with tourists. In the international tourist segment, snow and Christmas tours in China, Japan, Korea, Europe, UK, USA, Türkiye are outstanding choices, with package prices ranging from 7.99 to 49.99 million VND. On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, Vietravel has launched a special promotional product set from December 1 - 20, 2025, with discounts of up to 30 million VND and exclusive gifts.

To ensure service quality during the peak season, Vietravel has proactively increased its human resources, facilities and technology. The Etour platform - Vietravel's online tour management and sales system - has been enhanced, allowing customers to look up, book tours, track schedules and evaluate services online, while helping the operations department respond faster during the peak season. "Thanks to early and thorough preparation, Vietravel is confident in ensuring 100% stable service quality, despite the high number of customers at the end of the year and Tet," Deputy Director Pham Van Bay affirmed.

Thanks to the concerted efforts from management agencies to businesses, along with continuous innovation in products, services and experiences, Vietnam tourism is making a strong breakthrough in the peak season at the end of the year. Thereby, the tourism industry expects to complete the target of welcoming 25 million international visitors, while affirming its position as one of the top attractive destinations in Asia.
