The planning aims to turn Mui Ne into an international-class tourist center, playing an important role in the province's marine economic development after the merger.

Accordingly, the planning area has a total area of 14,760 hectares, including four administrative units: Phu Thuy ward (532 hectares), Mui Ne ward (6,093 hectares), Hoa Thang commune (7,165 hectares) and Phan Ri Cua commune (970 hectares). The development orientation model "One corridor - Three centers - Multi-directional access to the sea" with planning to establish a modern, synchronous spatial development model, a coastal corridor with a 63 km long main traffic route from Phan Ri Cua to Phu Thuy, plays the role of "backbone" connecting functional subdivisions and creating an effective space for exploiting the sea.

Mui Ne National Tourist Area is developed with three main tourist centers: Center 1 (Phu Thuy - Mui Ne) with an area of 6,653 hectares, an estimated population of 125,000 people, and 11 million visitors in 2040. This is a center of commerce, finance, health care, resort tourism, and sea sports of national and international standards. Outstanding products include resorts, health care, local cuisine, and experiential tourism.

Center 2 (Hoa Thang) has an area of 7,130 hectares, with an expected population of 144,000 and 13 million visitors. Priority areas for protecting and promoting the value of Bau Trang scenic spot; developing multi-purpose tourism complexes, theme parks, national marine sports centers and unique products such as car and motorbike racing tracks, prioritizing investment in F1 racing tracks, golf courses and sand sports activities. Center 3 (Phan Ri Cua) has an area of 977 hectares, a population of 31,000 people, 1.5 million visitors. Orientation for developing coastal resort tourism urban areas, prioritizing health care services and long-term accommodation.

With a modern, synchronous social and technical infrastructure system, diverse, unique, high-quality and branded tourism products, Lam Dong expects Mui Ne National Tourist Area to become an international tourism center, a leading destination in the Asia-Pacific region.
