Dong Thap strives to achieve an average income of 115 million VND/person/year.

At the 1st Congress of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, Dong Thap province set a target of average income per capita reaching 115 - 120 million VND by 2030.

On September 30, the 1st Congress of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, officially opened its first working session with the participation of 450 delegates, representing 120,670 party members in the entire Provincial Party Committee.

During the 2020 - 2025 term, Dong Thap province has set 23 main targets, of which 17 targets have been achieved and exceeded, especially in the fields of environment, culture, society and Party building. The average economic growth rate (GRDP) reached 5.51%/year; GRDP per capita was about 85.5 million VND; budget revenue increased by 2.25%/year. The economic structure continued to shift towards reducing the proportion of agriculture - forestry - fishery, increasing industry - construction and trade - services.

The province has focused on implementing 6 breakthroughs, including: Agricultural development; forming key products and driving forces; developing enterprises and startups; building infrastructure; developing human resources; administrative reform, and Party building. These steps have created clear changes in many areas.

In the 2025 - 2030 term, Dong Thap aims to build a clean and strong Party organization and political system; promote the desire for development and the will to be self-reliant. The province strives to become a locality with rapidly developing industry by 2030, a pioneer in building ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers; improving people's lives, progressive culture and society, and strong national defense and security. With a vision to 2045, Dong Thap aims to be a center of modern agriculture and eco-tourism in the Mekong Delta region, among the leading groups in the country in a number of advanced agricultural and industrial fields, a "livable" place with a prosperous and happy life.

The draft Political Report submitted to the Congress identifies 14 development targets, in which GRDP increases by an average of 9-10%/year, average income per capita reaches 115-120 million VND by 2030. Regarding culture and society, the goal by 2030 is to have 100% of general schools meeting national standards, the rate of trained workers reaching 82.5%, sustainable poverty eradication, improving health standards and completing advanced new rural areas. In the field of environment, the rate of rural residents using clean water and collecting and treating solid waste reaches over 99%.

Along with that, Dong Thap province also identified 5 breakthrough tasks in transport infrastructure, agriculture, industry, human resources and science and technology; proposed 5 groups of tasks and key solutions to realize the Congress resolution.
