In his concluding remarks at the conference, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man requested that in the coming time, agencies, units, cadres and party members focus on overcoming loopholes, obstacles and inadequacies due to legal regulations leading to corruption, waste and negativity; promote responsibility, especially the responsibility of leaders, ensure the prevention and fight against corruption, waste and negativity, and prevent the insertion of group and local interests in the work of building and enforcing laws as required in Party documents and resolutions.

The National Assembly Chairman also emphasized the need to synchronously and effectively implement anti-corruption measures, shifting the focus to prevention, proactively identifying, forecasting, and warning of violations early and from afar, not allowing small violations to accumulate into major violations, and resolutely not allowing old violations to recur.

Creating a legal corridor in the work of preventing and combating corruption

The National Assembly Chairman also mentioned that the performance of the National Assembly, National Assembly agencies, the National Assembly Office, and the State Audit Office in preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity continues to receive attention and focus.

The State Audit has recommended handling of 239,795 billion VND in finance, of which, it recommended increasing State budget revenue by 20,687 billion VND, reducing State budget expenditure by 86,772 billion VND; other recommendations are 132,336 billion VND...

At the Conference, the Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee and Chairman of the National Assembly frankly pointed out that the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity in the National Assembly Party Committee still has limitations such as the completion of legal institutions on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity has not fully met practical requirements; supervision activities in general, including supervision of the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity, are still limited and inadequate.

Regarding the key tasks in the coming time, Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee Tran Thanh Man emphasized the need to continue perfecting institutions, reviewing and overcoming loopholes and inadequacies in legal regulations on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; and improving the quality of operations of the Nationalities Council and the National Assembly Committees.

In particular, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man noted the key solutions: Strengthening political, ideological, ethical and lifestyle education for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers, raising awareness and sense of responsibility in preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.

Other important contents emphasized by the National Assembly Chairman are to increase publicity and transparency of administrative processes and procedures, internal spending regulations, financial management, public assets... "to prevent corruption and avoid abuse of power".

On the other hand, it is necessary to attach importance to the declaration and verification of assets and income of officials and civil servants, ensuring honesty; at the same time, promoting the supervisory and critical role of the press and the people.

Another issue is the need to promote the application of information technology in management and operation to limit the opportunities for corruption. Resolutely and strictly handle violations and corruption cases, with no "no-go zones" or exceptions in handling violations.

The Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Assembly requested to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the new thinking in the work of law-making as defined in Resolution 66 of the Politburo.
