National Assembly Chairman, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Forum on Law-making Tran Thanh Man chaired the 2nd meeting of the Forum Organizing Committee.

Attending the meeting were members of the Party Central Committee: Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Forum on Law-making Nguyen Khac Dinh; Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Manh; Chairman of the Law and Justice Committee Hoang Thanh Tung; Chairman of the Science, Technology and Environment Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai; Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee Phan Van Mai and representatives of the Standing Committee of the Ethnic Council and Committees of the National Assembly.

At the meeting, the Forum Organizing Committee listened to agencies report on the progress of preparations for the Forum; reviewed and commented on the work that needs to be continued to ensure the successful organization of the National Assembly's first Forum on law-making.

Delegates agreed that the Law-making Forum will be held on November 22. This is the first law-making forum organized by the National Assembly with the theme: "Improving institutions and laws to meet the requirements of national development in the new era".

Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Manh; Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment Nguyen Thanh Hai attended the meeting.

The forum aims to exchange, discuss and comprehensively evaluate the law-making work since the beginning of the 15th National Assembly's term up to now, focusing on the implementation of innovation in thinking and orientation of law-making in recent times; evaluate outstanding results in the National Assembly's legislative work, draw lessons and good practices to continue promoting and expanding; at the same time, summarize theory and practice to propose solutions to continue improving the effectiveness of the National Assembly's legislative activities in the coming time, contributing to perfecting the institution for rapid and sustainable development.

Concluding the session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the Standing Committee of the Law and Justice Committee for proactively coordinating with the National Assembly Office to deploy many assigned tasks to organize the Forum while simultaneously having to carry out many tasks serving the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly.

There is still a short time left until the Forum is held. The National Assembly Chairman requested the Standing Committee of the Law and Justice Committee to preside over and coordinate with the National Assembly Office to absorb the opinions at today's meeting, ensuring the requirements on progress and quality, practicality, economy, efficiency, focusing on expertise, avoiding formality.

From the recent practice of law-making activities of the National Assembly, the Chairman of the National Assembly stated that the National Assembly "must play the right role and know its lesson". The Forum must emphasize the innovation of the National Assembly's thinking on law-making, clearly point out what has been done, what has not been done and propose how to continue to innovate thinking on law-making in the coming time. This is the most important goal of the Forum, so that the National Assembly can continue to improve the quality of laws, increase the longevity of laws, and ensure that the promulgated laws are put into practice immediately.
