National Assembly Chairman: Organize elections according to the time frames prescribed by law

After a morning of urgent, serious, and highly responsible work, at noon on November 15, the National Conference to disseminate the Politburo 's Directive on the implementation of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term completed all the proposed contents and programs.

At the central bridge and 34 bridge points in 34 provinces and cities, there were about 2,000 delegates; at 3,321 commune-level bridge points, there were more than 10,000 delegates attending.

The conference listened to representatives of the Government, the National Election Council, the Central Organizing Committee, the Ministry of Home Affairs , and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front introduce a number of important documents on the election. In particular, the conference listened to an important speech by General Secretary To Lam, clearly stating the purpose, requirements, significance, and major policies and directions for all levels, sectors, and localities to seriously grasp, focus on leadership, direction, and effective implementation in the coming time.

In his closing speech at the Conference, National Assembly Chairman and Chairman of the National Election Council Tran Thanh Man stated: The 14th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee was a great success; The 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly - the last session of the term is taking place. The entire Party, the entire people and the entire army are striving to complete the goals and targets of the work in 2025, the goals of the 2020-2025 term and the preparation work for the 14th National Congress of the Party, towards the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam.

The results of the election will contribute significantly to promoting democracy, consolidating the great national unity bloc, enhancing people's trust, successfully implementing the goals and tasks of promoting the comprehensive national renewal, building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

National Assembly Chairman and Chairman of the National Election Council Tran Thanh Man said that immediately after this Conference, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the National Election Council, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, provinces, cities and relevant agencies will continue to closely coordinate, strengthen leadership, direction, guidance and organize implementation in accordance with the time frames prescribed by law.

Some of the key tasks ahead are: Deciding on the structure, composition, and allocation of the number of candidates nominated for National Assembly and People's Council deputies; Conducting consultation, selection, and nomination of candidates, establishing and announcing the list of candidates for National Assembly and People's Council deputies; Establishing local election organizations; Strengthening information and propaganda work, ensuring security and order, inspecting and urging the implementation of election laws... ensuring that the election takes place democratically, in accordance with the law, safely and economically, selecting people who are exemplary in virtue and talent, worthy of representing the will, aspirations and mastery of the people in the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels of the new term.

The upcoming election campaign is very urgent, with a huge amount of work, taking place nationwide and right on the occasion of Lunar New Year preparations.

Reiterating the statement of General Secretary To Lam, that is: time is urgent, work is much, requirements are high, but the more decisive the moment, the more we must make efforts, seize time, work with the spirit of overcoming challenges, act decisively for the interests of the nation and people, Chairman of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Election Council Tran Thanh Man emphasized, this is the time for leaders of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, organizations, sectors, and levels to demonstrate their leadership and command capacity; the ability to implement the Resolution into results and achievements; demonstrate endurance, ability to withstand pressure and work intensity./.
