On the evening of November 15, at Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the National Assembly, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association Nguyen Thi Thanh attended the Vietnam - Cambodia Student Exchange Program 2025 organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association in coordination with the People's Committee of Hung Yen province and Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

In his opening speech, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association Le Van Tuy emphasized: The program is an opportunity for the youth of the two countries to strengthen friendship, share and understand each other, and is an important bridge to foster friendship, cooperation and sustainable development of the two countries.

Through the exchange program, students will exchange knowledge, culture and life skills; learn and support each other in studying and scientific research, in life and most importantly, nurture friendships so that later, no matter where they are, what they do, they will still remember their youth, studying and being attached to beautiful memories in Vietnam.

The theme “Connecting Today – Sustainable Tomorrow” of the Program is not only meaningful, but also a humane message sent to the young generation of the two countries about responsibility, trust and aspiration in fostering friendship, contributing to building a future of peace, cooperation and sustainable development.

In the friendly atmosphere, full of special solidarity between Vietnam and Cambodia, Vice Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee Lai Van Hoan was pleased to welcome leaders, delegates and international students to Hung Yen - a land of "spiritual land and talented people", rich in cultural and revolutionary traditions.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lai Van Hoan said that Hung Yen always pays attention to expanding international cooperation, in which the People's Foreign Affairs work is of interest to the province, with many activities, contributing to strengthening and promoting solidarity and friendship with other countries. Every year, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee organize meetings to wish a Happy New Year to Lao, Cambodian, Korean, and Mozambique students studying and living in the province; creating conditions for the students to study far from home, but still receive warm affection in their second homeland.

“Through the exchange program, it will contribute to enhancing understanding, further tightening the brotherly solidarity, and at the same time opening up practical cooperation opportunities between Hung Yen province and Cambodia in fields such as: health, education - training, high-tech agriculture, processing industry, culture - tourism... On the solid foundation of deep friendship and long history, the Vietnam - Cambodia relationship will continue to be consolidated and developed in the coming time", Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lai Van Hoan believes.

Cultural program performed by students

Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy was established in 1968. During nearly 60 years of construction and development, Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy has trained over 27,000 doctors and pharmacists for the country; more than 1,200 doctors and pharmacists for Cambodia, Laos and Mozambique, of which 656 doctors and pharmacists have been trained for Cambodia. Many international students who have graduated have returned to Vietnam to continue their postgraduate studies; holding key positions at medical facilities in each country, making an important contribution to the work of caring for and improving people's health, being ambassadors of friendship between Vietnam and other countries and strengthening international cooperation. This is not only a valuable achievement but also demonstrates the responsibility and outstanding mark of the academic position, training quality and international cooperation stature of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Currently, the school has nearly 8,000 students, including over 600 international students. In September 2025, the school admitted 118 Cambodian international students, bringing the total number of Cambodian students studying at the school to 297. This is not only a responsibility, but also a clear mark of the academic position, training quality and international cooperation stature of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

At the program, students exchanged cultural performances; expressed many feelings and emotions about the meaningful program, helping them realize their responsibilities; following in the footsteps of previous generations, preserving and developing the solidarity and friendship between the two nations to become deeper and more beautiful.

At the program, Vice President of the National Assembly, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association Nguyen Thi Thanh presented the "For Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship" medal to a number of individuals; presented gifts of gratitude to relatives of martyrs and wounded soldiers; presented gifts to student representatives; and presented gifts to support the Friendship Incubation Fund.
