
According to Ho Chi Minh City Tax Chief Doan Minh Dung, thanks to proactive forecasting, analyzing and closely evaluating revenue sources and taxes; and simultaneously building revenue scenarios for each locality and each time, the total budget revenue in the locality in 10 months reached 510,183 billion VND. This result is equivalent to 102% of the Government's assigned estimate, 98% of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council's assigned estimate and increased by nearly 20% over the same period last year.
Notably, with the above results, for the first time in history, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department completed the budget collection task assigned by the Government in October. This is considered an important milestone, creating room for the City to be more proactive in management in the last months of the year.
From now until the end of the year, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department aims to strive to complete the 2025 budget collection task at the highest level. The Tax Department will continue to strengthen management and enforcement of tax debts; focus on handling and recovering outstanding debts. At the same time, inspection and examination work will be stepped up, especially in high-risk areas such as e-commerce, real estate and tax refunds.
At the same time, the Tax sector strengthens management of business households and individual businesses; promotes electronic tax payment to improve transparency and facilitate taxpayers.
According to the City Tax Chief, the entire industry continues to promote digital transformation, promptly handle backlog tax refund dossiers, and optimize the process of receiving and resolving taxpayers' feedback and recommendations.
To improve the efficiency of budget collection, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department recommends that the City People's Committee resolutely direct the processing of documents and speed up the auction progress of projects in the area, especially the revenue from auctions at Thu Thiem Urban Area, Eco Smart City project of Lotte Group, project in Phu Thuan ward of Phat Dat Group...
Regarding the above results, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc acknowledged and congratulated the outstanding results of the City Tax Department and emphasized that the Tax sector "will not rest on its laurels", and will continue to make maximum efforts to best complete the task of collecting the budget in 2025.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Tax Department to continue promoting administrative reform, shortening the time for handling procedures, streamlining the documents; paying special attention to the attitude of serving people and businesses. In addition, the Tax Department needs to effectively deploy electronic invoices generated from cash registers, and at the same time support business households to convert to enterprise models to expand their scale of operations.
