This is an annual activity that brings together the community that loves traditional costumes. This year's event attracted nearly 800 young people to participate in the parade, creating a vibrant flow of colors and making locals and tourists stop to watch.
The traditional costumes of Vietnamese ethnic groups are the highlight of this year's Bach Hoa Walking Festival. For the first time, the costumes of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam are gathered in a unified formation, where the costumes of each ethnic group appear clearly: the colorful flared skirts of the Mong, the red color of the Dao, the brocade patterns of the Ede, the indigo shirt of the Tay and Nung, and the softness of the Thai skirt...
All of these have created a colorful cultural picture right in the heart of the capital. Each costume not only represents the identity of each ethnic group but also symbolizes the spirit of unity, towards the National Unity Day.

In parallel, the bloc celebrating 30 years of Vietnam joining ASEAN is no less new. The significance of the bloc comes from the fact that 2025 marks 30 years since Vietnam joined ASEAN. This is also an opportunity for the audience to see the national costumes of countries in the region - from Thailand, Laos, Singapore to Myanmar, Philippines, Timor-Leste, Cambodia...
The atmosphere is vividly recreated, carrying the national flag, wearing typical traditional costumes, walking on the streets of Hanoi , creating a rare cultural exchange space.

Among the young participants, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh ( Phu Tho ) felt honored to be part of the bloc celebrating 30 years of Vietnam joining ASEAN. Wearing the Timor-Leste costume, Ngoc Anh shared: “I feel very proud to be part of the bloc celebrating 30 years of Vietnam joining ASEAN. The Timor-Leste costume is very beautiful, with unique and attractive patterns. Everyone passing by stopped to look and ask about the meaning of the costume. That made me even more excited and wanted to spread the spirit of cultural exchange to more people.”

According to Mr. Vu Duc - Co-founder of Bach Hoa Bo Hanh, these new points are built to emphasize the value of traditional costumes in the context of this year's event: "Every time we organize Bach Hoa Bo Hanh, we choose a different theme. This year, the activity is within the framework of the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2025, so the highlight will be traditional Ao Dai. And at the same time, when the country has many big milestones, we want to establish such special blocks so that everyone can look forward to the important historical milestones of the country during these days."
In addition to the performance, the event also created an open space for young people to meet and exchange knowledge about the history of costumes, materials, patterns and regional identity. Attendees not only wore traditional designs but also actively learned about the story behind each outfit.

The 2025 Hundred Flowers Walk is therefore not simply a costume parade, but an affirmation that traditional culture is still alive, loved, preserved and continued by the young generation. The bustling footsteps on the Hoan Kiem Lake walking street today not only carry the echoes of the past, but also open up a future where Vietnamese identity continues to shine – close, modern and proud.
