Responding to VietNamNet reporters about the progress of the two projects of Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant 1 and 2, the Khanh Hoa Province Construction Investment Project Management Board said that, up to now, the unit has completed all the work of inventorying land, assets, and graves related to the two projects.

Specifically, at the Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant project (area of 409.53ha), the unit has completed the inventory of assets of 477 households and 2 organizations. At the 64.85ha resettlement area, the inventory has been completed with 89 households and 3 organizations.

For the Ninh Thuan 2 Nuclear Power Plant, the inventory work has been completed for 450 households, 3 organizations and more than 1,800 graves. However, more than 1,000 graves have yet to have their relatives identified, causing difficulties in the relocation work.

In addition, the entire process of verifying land origin, resolving disputes, and approving specific land prices for compensation calculation in the construction area has also been carried out by competent authorities.

According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board, before the merger of provinces and cities, the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan Province (old) had sent a document requesting the Prime Minister to allocate 3,200 billion VND. This capital was proposed to be used to build two resettlement areas, one for improving existing residential areas in Thai An village and one for resettling people for agricultural production, to ensure the progress of site handover and stabilize people's lives.

Up to now, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee continues to inherit and promote the above proposal, and at the same time directs relevant departments and branches to speed up site clearance progress in 2025 according to the direction of the Prime Minister.

Khanh Hoa Province's Investment and Construction Project Management Board said that the amount of land to be recovered is large, the implementation time is short, while many issues related to law, planning and people's livelihoods have not been thoroughly resolved.

In particular, the Thai An area - home to specialty grape growing areas, tourist attractions and Nui Chua National Park - is facing concerns about the safe distance between the factory and residential areas due to the lack of specific regulations on quarantine areas.

Therefore, the Government's early allocation of budget, issuance of specific regulations and permission to apply special mechanisms in the resettlement process are key factors to removing current bottlenecks.

In addition to professional work, the local government has also implemented synchronous communication activities to strengthen people's trust. Specifically, more than 2,000 propaganda handbooks have been distributed to people; 10 large billboards have been erected at the factory construction site to provide transparent information and create social consensus.
