At the workshop, Dr. Nguyen Ho Phong - Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture - said that to develop tourism at relics such as Dien Khanh Temple of Literature, it is necessary to enhance the role of the community in the values of historical relics.
According to Mr. Phong, enhancing the role and awareness of the community is to help the community understand more deeply the value of the Temple of Literature.
In developing tourism at these relic sites, Mr. Phong said it is necessary to shift from the current administrative management model to a "co-management" model between the government - community - tourism businesses.
"To transform the community into the subject of creating cultural tourism products, it is first necessary to organize short-term training courses on community tour guides and tourism communication skills," Mr. Phong shared.
According to Mr. Phong, turning relics into tourist attractions needs to be associated with educational activities, community festivals and establishing a mechanism for sharing economic benefits between tourism businesses, the state and the community associated with the heritage.

According to Professor, Doctor - Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Chairman of the National Cultural Heritage Council, temples of literature at all levels in Vietnam are places that express the national cultural identity through reflecting the tradition of studiousness, respect for teachers and the history of Vietnamese education and examinations.
Like the Temple of Literature in Thang Long - Hanoi, the Temple of Literature in Hue and many provincial temples have been affected by nature, humans and social context. Nowadays, there are not many temples of literature that are known or intact, posing the problem of preserving temples of literature in Vietnam.
Dr. Do Thi Huong Thao - Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities - said that currently the work of preserving temples of literature has not really received attention, especially for provincial temples of literature that are operating quite isolated, with little connection between provinces, and has not created a close connection between temples of literature and tourist attractions and routes in the province.
Dien Khanh Temple of Literature was built on a high land area of nearly 17,700 square meters, located in Dien Khanh commune (Khanh Hoa), is a place to worship Confucius, his four excellent students and 10 sages who made many contributions to Confucianism.
This is one of the few provincial temples of literature still existing in the South Central region, bearing a strong historical mark and unique cultural values.
In 1998, the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) ranked Dien Khanh Temple of Literature as a national historical and cultural relic.
